PARAPET

In engineering and architectural terms, a parapet is the correct technical term.

A parapet wall is a low protective wall that extends above the edge of a roof, balcony, terrace, bridge, or retaining structure.

Types of parapets include:
• Plain parapet – simple vertical wall.
• Perforated parapet – contains decorative openings.
• Paneled parapet – divided into panels for appearance.
• Embatteled parapet – commonly seen on old castles and fortifications.

For better understanding

A parapet wall is a short wall built above the roof level at the edge of a building. Its main purpose is to prevent people from falling off the roof and to improve the building’s appearance.

So, don’t mixed fascia to parapet.
And remember that parapet also takes place in a bridge not only in a building.
