Have a look at this neutral bar.

Four terminals. Seven conductors.
⚠️ 2 × 16 mm² conductors ⚠️ 1 × 10 mm² conductor ⚠️ 5 × 1.5 mm² conductors
Some 1.5 mm² conductors have been forced into the same terminal as one of the 16 mm² conductors.

Many people will look at this and say:
"It's tight."
"It's working."
"What's the problem?"
The problem is that SANS 10142 is clear on this issue.

The regulations require that conductors be terminated correctly, and where more than one conductor is installed in a terminal, specific conditions must be met.

Conductors must also be arranged so that they can be disconnected individually without affecting the integrity of other conductors (not twisted together).

This is not a guideline or opinion.
It is not a recommendation.
It is not simply "good practice".
It is a regulation.

So why does the regulation exist?
Because electricity doesn't care whether someone was in a hurry or there wasn't space available.

A small conductor trapped beside a much larger conductor can:
⚡ Be loose without the electrician realising it.
⚡ Develop a high-resistance connection.
⚡ Overheat.
⚡ Cause nuisance tripping.
⚡ Damage equipment.

Most electrical failures don't happen because of complicated faults.
They happen because somebody thought, "That should be good enough."
