Our General Manager of Green Energy Solutions, Johnson Lam recently participated as a speaker and panellist at the Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Conference 2026 held at Le Mรฉridien Petaling Jaya.

During his session, โ€œBeyond Solar: Unlocking Business Value through Energy Efficiency, Storage, and Smart Energy Management,โ€ Johnson shared how businesses can move beyond standalone solar solutions to achieve greater operational efficiency, cost optimisation and energy resilience.

He also joined the technical forum on โ€œIntegrating Solar, Storage and Smart Energy Systems to Accelerate the Energy Transition,โ€ contributing insights on how integrated energy solutions can support a more practical and sustainable transition.

Hasilwan is honoured to be part of this important conversation and to exchange perspectives with fellow industry leaders working towards Malaysiaโ€™s energy transition. Thank you to the organisers for providing a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

Malaysia is the world's second largest producer of solar panels after China. Most of them leave the country.

That fact came up at the National Climate Governance Summit 2026, alongside a bigger point from the panellists: the hardest part of the energy transition is no longer ambition. It is implementation.

We see that gap every day on site.

A solar farm without the grid capacity to evacuate its power is a stranded asset. A BESS without proper interconnection and protection is just an expensive battery. Rooftop generation that cannot export cleanly to the distribution network delivers a fraction of its value.

So, when the conversation turns to local resources and local technology, we would add one more thing to the list. Local capability in the wires, the substations and the switchgear that sit between a panel and a home.

That capability already exists here. It is built by Malaysian engineers, on Malaysian projects, under Malaysian grid codes. The transition does not wait for it to be imported.

Generation gets the headlines. The grid gets the electrons to where people actually live. ๐Ÿ”Œ

Solar skills, straight from the field to the classroom.

Our GM for Green Energy Solutions, Johnson Lam ran a Solar Installation Certification Training for engineering students at Management and Science University Shah Alam. Installation techniques, safety practices, industry standards, all certified-on completion.

The session supports MSU's Knowledge Transfer Programme, MySolar: Empowering the Urban Poor Community @ Kampung Olak Lempit.

Thank you to the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering for having us.

Hasilwan Group recently organised a safety event at our project site in Nusa Cemerlang, Johor under the theme โ€œTake Five Before Touch.โ€

The event brought our project teams and partners together to reinforce our shared commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. It highlighted the importance of pausing before every task to assess potential risks, ensure the correct PPE is used and confirm that all safety controls are in place.

The session also served as a meaningful reminder that safety is a collective responsibility, regardless of our roles on site. By looking out for one another and speaking up when conditions are unsafe, we strengthen the safety culture across our operations.

At Hasilwan Group, safety is more than a procedure. It is a core value that guides our daily work and ensures everyone returns home safely.

When AFA started in July 2025, it was zero. By November 2025, it was paying you back 8.90 sen per kWh. This month it takes 3.80 sen.

Same line on the same bill. 12.70 sen of movement in nine months.

Few budgeted for this. That is the actual problem, not the level.

If you are running a plant, a cold room, a mall or a data centre, your energy cost now has a variable in it that moves faster than you can reprice. Solar, battery energy storage and an honest audit do not just make that number smaller. They shrink the base it applies to.

How is your organization pricing this in? โšก

Congratulations Renesas Semiconductor KL Sdn Bhd on the launch of its solar car park project in Penang.

Thank you to VP of Assembly & Test Mr. Ooi Heng Ee, Managing Director Mr. Choo Boon Teong, and the Renesas leadership team for having us at the ceremony, and to Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow for officiating the launch.

The project contributes to Penang's target of a 10% renewable energy mix by 2030 under Penang 2030 and the Penang Energy Framework. Hasilwan is glad to support it as EPCC solar partner, working alongside Renesas, TNB, and GSPARX across four Renesas manufacturing facilities in three locations:

๐Ÿ“ Penang, Site 1 and Site 2 (solar carpark and rooftop)
๐Ÿ“ Kulim, Kedah
๐Ÿ“ Teluk Panglima Garang, Selangor
