Our earlier conceptual design proposal for a coastal commercial development was envisioned as a landmark in a coastal town of Eastern Sabah, a gateway to some of the world’s most celebrated island paradises such as Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai, Mataking, Sibuan, Mantabuan, Siamil, and Pom Pom.

The project combines commercial retails, rentable spaces for boutique hotels, and a 11-storey luxury hotel, creating a vibrant hub that not only serves visitors but also uplifts the local urban fabric. With 56 boutique hotel units and a total of 128 rooms in the 11-storey luxury hotel, the development is designed to accommodate a diverse range of travelers seeking both comfort and experience.

At the heart of the design intention is the ambition to establish an iconic architectural identity that resonates with the town’s coastal setting. The façade and overall building form were conceptualized to reflect the fluidity of the surrounding waters, drawing parallels with the diving and snorkeling activities that define the region’s tourism. More than just a building, the project was envisioned as a bold gesture of welcome — a contemporary symbol that harmonizes with nature while capturing the spirit of exploration and arrival.

TUARAN: A new bridge built to replace the old suspension bridge and featuring a modern spiral design is now in its final phase of construction at the Tuaran Market area. It is expected to become a new landmark in the district.

The nearly 100-metre-long pedestrian bridge boasts a unique and contemporary design, with strong potential to attract visitors and serve as a popular photography spot.

We are honoured to have been appointed as the architect for the Foh Sang Township Rejuvenation project. Our design focused on improving and enhancing pedestrian connectivity, optimizing circulation patterns, respecting local culture and needs, and activating public spaces through a series of interventions, including the strategic placement of planters, street furniture & sculpture, and softscape elements. Spatial hierarchy, sightlines, and human-scale considerations were integrated to create a cohesive streetscape that balances functionality and aesthetic appeal.

We are thankful to Datuk YB Ginger Phoong for initiating this project to fulfill his promise to the local community. Also, thanks to DBKK as the project owner and administrator, main contractor, and the consultants team for the great collaboration. Sharing these visualizations as part of our architectural portfolio, highlighting the design intent, materiality, and urban integration.
