En palabras del propio Schmill : “T**i” Carmen Schmill como la llamaba cariñosamente , “ es la mejor fiscalista y alguien que ha logrado ese lugar por mérito propio sin ayuda de nadie , una gran abogada y sobre todo no le ha pedido nada a nadie “

Schmill with his younger sister Carmen Schmill, one of the most brilliant tax attorneys in Mexico to this day, owner of the famous Schmill ART painting inspired by the Mona Lisa, in Schmill's studio enjoying an afternoon of Art, Talk and Music. Y así como en Schmill encontramos el lado amable de la vida —lo bello, la luz, el sol, el color—, también nos encontramos con su lado oscuro. Al mostrarnos muchos de sus cuadros pertenecientes a esta pintura cruel, monstruosa, terrorífica, lo que hace es revelarnos, con singular valor, ese lado del mundo que preferimos no ver… y tal vez hasta la parte inexplorada de nuestra propia alma.

Just as Schmill reveals the gentle side of life —the beauty, the light, the sun, the color— he also brings us face to face with its darker side. By showing us many of his cruel, monstrous, terrifying paintings, he dares to unveil the side of the world we’d rather not see… and perhaps even the unexplored parts of our own soul.

Nueva exposición de José Manuel Schmill integrada por más de 150 obras de la autoría de 101 artistas.

La exposición busca poner el foco en otros creadores que han contribuido a la historia del dibujo en México, sin que su obra haya sido siempre reconocida con la misma notoriedad. El título de la exposición alude a la idea de que los artistas participantes son “cachorros de tigre”, es decir, herederos de una tradición que sigue evolucionando y que, lejos de estar en el margen, ocupa un lugar central dentro del arte.

The exhibition aims to highlight other creators who have contributed to the history of drawing in Mexico, even though their work has not always received the same recognition. The title of the exhibition alludes to the idea that the participating artists are “tiger cubs,” meaning heirs to a tradition that continues to evolve and, far from being on the margins, holds a central place in the art world.
