🔧 2M2 TANK Easy Clone Troubleshooting Tip

What should you do if your Easy Clone powers on with USB, but won't turn on without the USB cable?

In a recent customer case, our engineer recommended checking the battery spring/contact connection first. Remove the battery and reinstall it securely before assuming the complete unit is faulty.

But what if a battery cover screw keeps spinning and won't come out?

👉 Hold the screwdriver at a slight angle, apply gentle pressure, and turn it counterclockwise. This helps the screw catch the threads so it can gradually move outward.

Does Easy Clone support Mercedes-Benz R170 (SLK230) ID44 keys?

🔑 Can 2M2 Tank Easy Clone Clone Mercedes R170 ID44 (7935) Keys?

We recently received a question from a customer who purchased a 2M2 Tank Easy Clone and tried to clone a key for a 2002 Mercedes-Benz R170 SLK230.

After updating both the device firmware and Android APP, the key was detected as 7935 / ID44, but the cloning process could not continue.

❓ Is it a firmware problem?

✅ After checking with our engineers, the answer is:

BMW ID44 (7935) applications → Supported
Mercedes-Benz R170 ID44 (7935) applications → Not Supported

Although the device can correctly identify the chip type, detection does not mean the key can be cloned. Mercedes R170 uses a special immobilizer system that requires dedicated Mercedes key programming equipment.

⚠️ Important:
The 2M2 Tank Easy Clone is working normally when it detects the chip. The limitation comes from the vehicle's immobilizer system, not from the firmware update.
