၂၀၁၃ ခုနှစ်ဝန်းကျင်မှာ သတင်းထောက်အလုပ်ကို စတင်လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့တဲ့ မခင် တစ်ယောက် မီဒီယာနယ်ပယ်မှာ အခက်အခဲတွေရှိလာခဲ့ပြီး ကိုယ်ရေးကိုယ်တာကိစ္စတွေကြောင့် ဆက်လက်လုပ်ကိုင်ဖို့ စိတ်အားထက်သန်မှုတွေ လျော့နည်းလာခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အပြောင်းအလဲအနေနဲ့ စိတ်အားတက်ကြွမှုလည်းရှိပြီး တက်တက်ကြွကြွနဲ့ အဖွဲ့လိုက်ပါဝင်လှုပ်ရှားနိုင်တဲ့ အလုပ်အကိုင်တစ်ခုကို ပြောင်းလုပ်ကြည့်ချင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ဒို့အိမ်ရဲ့ “အမျိုးသမီးများနဲ့ ဆောက်လုပ်ရေး” ပရိုဂရမ်က အမျိုးသမီးတွေကို ဆောက်လုပ်ရေးလုပ်ငန်းတွေမှာ ဝင်ရောက်နိုင်စေဖို့ ရည်ရွယ်ပြုလုပ်တယ်ဆိုတာကို သိရတဲ့အခါမှာတော့ မခင်တစ်ယောက် ဆယ်စုနှစ်တစ်ခုလောက် လုပ်ခဲ့တဲ့ အလုပ်ကိုစွန့်ပြီး ဒီပရိုဂရမ်ကို သေချာတက်ဖို့ စိတ်ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ပရိုဂရမ်နဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး သူ့ရဲ့ အမြင်ကိုလည်း မခင် က အခုလို မျှဝေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

“ဆိုက်ထဲကိုဆင်းရတာက ကျွန်တော် ဒီပရိုဂရမ်ကို လျှောက်ဖြစ်တဲ့ အဓိက အကြောင်းအရင်းပါ။ လက်တွေ့ တစ်လ တကယ့် လုပ်ငန်းခွင်ကို ပို့ပေးတယ်ဆိုတာ အတော်လေးကောင်းတဲ့ အခွင့်အရေးလို့ ကျွန်တော်မြင်တယ်။

Ma Khin, who had worked as a reporter in the media industry since 2013 began to lose her motivation to go to work everyday due to industry challenges and personal matters. Seeking a change, she longs to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.

When she first found out about the purpose of Doh Eain’s “Women in Construction” programme which empower women to work in the construction industry, she decided to take the risk of leaving behind her decade-long career to fully commit to this training.

Ma Khin shares her thoughts on the “Women in Construction” saying:

“Getting the chance to work on a construction site was my main motivation to apply. Being able to work on-site for a month is a major perk of the programme.

I believe this one-month internship will be the perfect opportunity to get to know the construction industry deeply and make connections with industry professionals.”

Women still face societal norms and systemic barriers that limit their career choices. The construction industry remains one of the largest sectors where women are underrepresented.
To address this, Doh Eain’s “Women in Construction” runs with a mission to equip women with skills to break these boundaries. “Women in Construction II: Bold Builders” is currently recruiting a new round of passionate women who are ready to gain new skills, defy stereotypes and build a career in the construction sector.

What You’ll Learn:

“Women in Construction” programme was launched in 2024 with the vision of empowering women to enter the construction industry, a sector where they traditionally face numerous barriers due to societal norms.
In collaboration with Swisscontact Myanmar, we provided women with technical construction skills and essential life skills training, followed by a one-month practical internship on actual construction sites.
Furthermore, upon completing the programme, professionals in the industry provided career counselling to help them successfully transition into the construction workforce and collaborated with partner organisations to create job opportunities.
We are delighted to inform you that “Women in Construction” programme is making a comeback. Full details and recruitment updates for our upcoming cohort will be announced soon.
