BitulenTM SK 374(Self- Adhesive Waterproofing Membrane)

Do not allow Fleximent 201 to be contaminated by other materials. Gloves and google should be worn. Any splashes to the skin or eye should be washed off with clean water. Store in cool and dry place.

Description

BitulenTM SK 374 is a 1.5mm thick preformed waterproofing membrane for use both above and below grade with concrete , brickwork and blockwork constructions to protect buildings against water.

BitulenTMSK 374 comprises a special cross - laminated polyethylene film coated with modified bitumen. The underside is protected by a silicone coated release paper.

BitulenTM SK 374 has a 65mm wide selvedge protected by silicon coated release paper ,which permits achieving a homogenous joint at the overlaps of adjacent layers of membrane.

BitulenTM SK 374 meets the requirements of Singapore Standard SS 374:94 for preformed sheet membranes.

BitulenTM SK 37 provides an effective waterproofing membrane for foundations, tunnels, floors and flat roofs. Being cold-applied, it I s ideal for installation in restricted spaces.

INSTALLATION

All surfaces should be dry,smooth ,free from voids, dust or loose materials and sharp protrusions . Concrete should be cured before application of waterproofing membrane. Where the substrade is not smooth, it should be rendered or flush point to give a smooth surface.

Surfaces must be primed with an approved high pe*******on aliphatic primerandallowedto dry tack-free before installing BitulenTM SK 374

All inside and outside corners should be covered by first applying a 300mm wide strip of BitulenTM SK374 before the installing of the full width membrane.

After removing the release paper, BitulenTM SK 374 is then pressure bonded to the substrate. Apply pressure from the center to prevent air being trapped. All laps must be at least 65mm wide.

For floors, the installation of BitulenTM SK 374 should be continued up the wall to connect with the damp-proof course in the walls.A fillet should be placed at junction and covered with a reinforcing strip prior to installing membrane.

Aswith all waterproofing membranes, BitulenTM SK 374 should be protect by a screed or other protective layer immediately after installation. When hydrostatic pressure is present an external specification should be used.

SHELL FG4

Woven Fibre Glass

Description

Shell FG4 is an open mesh fabric woven specifically for the reinforcement of asphalt, bitumen mastics and waterproofing emulsions.

Shell Fg4 has great strength, and does not romove volatile solvent oils from the medium that it is reinforcing. It is unaffected by micro-organisms, by weather or by soil exposure, and its high tensile strength provides greatly increased resistance to cracking and ensures considerably longer life for the protective coating.

Uses

Used with asphalt and bitumen mastics and emulsions in the waterproofing of new and old roofs. It reinforces protective coatings used in building cinstruction,foundations and subway walls

Shells FG4 can be applied over the surface of a roof, within gutters, and in the angle of all upstands such as parapet walls.

To preserve from corrosion,pipes for use above or below ground are often wrapped with narrow strips of woven glass fabric incorporated as areinforcement for the prtective coating.

PREPARATION

Clean off all moss, dirt and loose material.

Prime the surface to be reinforced with an appropriate primer. Allow to dry.

APPLICATION

Apply a layer of the chosen protective coating by brush or spray over the clean surface of the structure being treated surface and thoroughly unrolled over the treated surface and thoroughly embedded with a brush or squeegee. Provide a minimum of 75mm and 100mm end and side lapping respectively. It is important that the woven glass fabric is adequately smoothened across the surface to avoid any wrinkling effect. Pipes are usually spirally wrapped by hand or machine with adequate overlap, using a narrow strip of fabric which has been slit to the required width.
