On this historic occasion, we celebrate the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of our forefathers who laid the foundation for the nation we proudly call home. Independence Day serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to promote unity, peace, education, development, and national progress.

‎The Executive of the B**g University Students Union (BUSU) is pleased to inform all members that Veteran Martin K. N. Kollie has officially extended a special invitation to BUSU to participate in his upcoming celebration and engagement program scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026.
‎In our communication with the Veteran following the invitation, he expressed profound appreciation for BUSU and emphasized that our participation would bring great joy to the entire family. He further described BUSU as one of his most precious and respected student unions in Liberia, making this invitation a great honor for our Union.
‎
‎Additionally, the Veteran requested that BUSU nominate two representatives to serve on the Organizing Committee responsible for planning and coordinating the event. In response, the Executive has designated the following comrades to represent BUSU on the committee:

‎OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY AND CONDOLENCES.
‎
‎The leadership and entire student body of the B**g University Students Union (BUSU) extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of those who tragically lost their lives in the devastating motor accident that reportedly occurred along the Suakoko–Gbarnga Highway in B**g County a few hours ago.
‎
‎We are deeply saddened by the reported passing of Liberian journalist Hezekiah Jorkeah, who had recently returned to Liberia after earning a Master's Degree in Agri-Management, as well as Zack Monger, the Manager of Kpatawee Waterfalls, whose untimely death has left many in grief.

‎We have identified another victim as Melissa Holder, a 12th-grade student of Williams V.S. Tubman Gray High School. Melissa had just sat the national examinations and was expected to graduate this year.
‎According to reports, she was traveling to Monrovia to make final preparations for her graduation when the accident claimed her life

We mourn every other victim whose life was tragically cut short in this heartbreaking incident.
‎This tragedy is a painful reminder of how precious and fragile life is. Families who looked forward to welcoming their loved ones home have instead been overwhelmed by grief, and many promising dreams have been ended far too soon.
‎
‎During this difficult time, BUSU stands in solidarity with every bereaved family and all those affected by this heartbreaking loss. We pray that God grants the departed eternal rest and gives their families the strength, comfort, and courage to bear this profound loss.
‎We also lift up in prayer all those who sustained injuries in the accident. May Almighty God stretch forth His healing hand, grant them a speedy recovery, and restore them to full health.
‎May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace, and may perpetual light shine upon them.
‎
