Wickerscape- Osez l’Osier
Developed with Rattan Hun, the installation we presented at Wedesign Beirut explores rattan craftsmanship through a theatrical spatial narrative. Using only rattan, it features tiered rattan seating and a continuous woven rug surrounding a central screen. The mono-material design transforms the space into a performative environment where visitors complete the scenography through their presence and interaction.
The subtitle Osez l’Osier pays tribute to our mother, Yolla, who, forty years ago, opened a rattan shop in Tripoli with her friend May. They wrote this phrase on the storefront window, an expression of their avant-garde spirit.
