A residential connection may require a single-jet meter. A commercial building may need a multi-jet option. A bulk or industrial line may require a Woltmann meter designed for higher flow volumes. Where automatic meter reading is required, a pulse-output option can connect the meter to an AMR system, with selectable pulse values such as 1L, 10L or 100L per pulse, depending on the application.
But a pulse output does not make every meter automatically “remote.” The meter, communication system, data platform and installation must be specified as one system.

In a horizontal pipeline, the screen pocket should point downward so sand, rust, scale and other debris collect in the chamber instead of remaining in the flow path.
The strainer should be installed upstream of the equipment it is protecting, such as a pump, control valve, pressure-reducing valve, water meter, HVAC equipment or sensitive instrument.
For vertical pipework with upward flow, the pocket should point in the direction of flow. The clean-out or blowdown connection should remain accessible, and an isolating valve can be fitted to make cleaning easier without shutting down the entire system. Before commissioning, flush the pipeline, check the flow-direction arrow, align the fl**ges correctly, seat the gasket properly and leave enough space to remove the screen for cleaning.
Y-strainers are commonly used in water-supply systems, pump stations, HVAC pipework, municipal networks and industrial process lines.
The right strainer also depends on the pressure rating, pipe size, flow rate, mesh size and type of debris expected in the line.
Do not install a Y-strainer only because there is space for it. Install it where it can protect the equipment that matters.

When flow reverses after a pump stops, the sudden change in velocity can create pressure surges and water hammer. A slow-closing check valve controls the closing action, helping reduce the severity of that transient and protecting the pump, pipework and other components in the system. For pump stations and pressurised water systems, it is therefore not just about preventing backflow. How the valve closes matters too. Before specifying one, consider the pipe size, operating pressure, flow conditions and pump characteristics.

A rubber joint is not just a flexible connector placed between two pipes. Around pumps, compressors and water-treatment equipment, vibration and movement can travel directly into the connected pipework. Over time, that can place unnecessary stress on fl**ges, valves, supports and equipment nozzles.
The KXT-A rubber expansion joint is designed to absorb axial, lateral and angular movement while reducing the transmission of noise and vibration. It can be used in applications such as pump stations, water-treatment plants and HVAC pipework.
However, the right joint depends on more than pipe diameter.
Before ordering, confirm the pipe size, pressure rating, fluid, temperature, rubber material, fl**ge drilling standard and the amount of movement expected in the system. The pipework must also have proper supports, guides and anchors. A rubber joint can accommodate movement; it should not be used to correct poor alignment or unsupported pipework.
