Sharon Chepchumba 5 ended her national team career on July 25, 2025, sharing the news through a heartfelt message on her social media platforms, including Instagram.

The opposite hitter, who wore jersey number 5, concluded a remarkable seven-year stint with the Malkia Strikers - Kenya Women's Volleyball Team, leaving a legacy of resilience, consistency, and pride. She played a key role in helping Kenya lift the African title for the 10th time, ending an eight-year drought and cementing the nation’s dominance on the continent.

Chumba Sharon also represented Kenya at the delayed Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games becoming one of the few Kenyan players to feature in two Olympic editions. With her national team journey complete she focuses on her professional club career.
