クリスタルガラスは、最初から粉ではありません。
珪石、鉛丹、硝石などを高温で溶かし、まずはクリスタルガラスという素材を作ります。
その後、その塊を砕き、さらに粉状にして、ふるいで粒の大きさを揃えていきます。
そうしてようやく作品に使える材料になります。
ここまでに多くの工程と時間が必要です。
そして、この工程を何色もの色ごとに繰り返し、作品に使う材料を揃えていきます。
完成した作品の奥には、目には見えない素材づくりの積み重ねがあります。

Crystal glass does not begin as a powder.
Materials such as silica, red lead, and potassium nitrate are melted at high temperatures to create crystal glass.
The solid glass is then crushed, ground into powder, and carefully sieved so that each grain is a uniform size.
Only then does it become a material ready to be used in a piece.
Reaching this stage requires considerable time and many processes.
This process is repeated for each color, building the palette that will eventually bring a work to life.
Behind every finished piece lies a long accumulation of work that remains unseen—the making of the materials themselves.
