There's something humbling about starting seeds.

You put this tiny little thing in soil.

Nothing happens.

You wait.

Still nothing.

You start questioning everything.

Then suddenly...

A tiny green hook appears.

And you're ridiculously proud.

I love my little volunteer plants! But why do they always grow better than the ones I give my all to?😩

Let's talk cooking herbs.

If you had limited garden space, which of these would earn a permanent spot?

Fennel
Mint
Thyme
Rosemary
Basil

For me, the interesting question isn't just which herb tastes good. It's which one do you use often enough to justify giving it garden space?

What's your pick?

What's one gardening mistake you will NEVER make again?

Mine? Starting too many seeds!

I'll just say this:

Some lessons are expensive.

Others are measured in wilted plants.

Small-space gardening teaches you something quickly:

Every inch matters.
Vertical space matters.
Sunlight matters.
Container size matters.

And suddenly you're standing on your balcony at 7am calculating where the sun hits.

Has gardening turned me into a part-time architect?

This may be an unpopular gardening opinion:

You don't need to grow everything from seed.

Sometimes buying a healthy transplant is the smartest choice.

Gardening isn't a competition to see who can grow from seed.

One simple habit that can save you a lot of gardening headaches:

Check your plants regularly.

Not because you need to hover over them.

But because catching a pest, wilt, disease or watering issue early is usually much easier than fixing a full-blown problem later.

It took two years to get them to this size!

What non-traditional tricks do you use in your garden?

Me: “I'm going to keep this balcony garden simple.”

Also me:

“Oh, that looks interesting.”

*orders seeds*

“Oh, I could grow that in a container.”

*orders more seeds*

“This one is compact.”

*adds another plant*

I really am the problem 😩
