It’s been a long time since I last returned to Milan, but the memories of this city remain vivid. The days I spent studying and working here feel like just yesterday. The streets of Milano are a symphony of time and space. As the tram glides slowly by, the intertwining of tracks and cobblestones seems to whisper tales of the city’s industrial past and modern vitality. Every building, every square, is a fragment of history, piecing together the unique urban fabric of Milano. As an architect, I pause amidst these details, feeling how the city seamlessly blends functionality and aesthetics. As a Chinese architect, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II leaves me in awe. Its 19th-century steel and glass dome showcases the perfect fusion of engineering and aesthetics. The cruciform layout and exquisite decorations not only fulfill commercial functions but also create a unique public space. This balance between functionality and artistry remains inspiring even today. Standing beneath the dome, I feel that architecture is not just the construction of space, but also the intersection of history and dreams.
