Long before the final unveil, every design has a backstory. Each flawless visualisation and towering façade is the result of a painstaking process of research, material exploration, and hand-on site coordination.

Our approach to design connects the dots between vision and reality. Every stage, from understanding clients aspirations to the initial concepts and in-depth team talks to the on-site stone carving, is driven by utmost accuracy and architectural expertise.

This powder room is designed as a part of a holiday home, located in Goa. It reflects the family desire for a tropical escape connecting the outdoors and the indoors. The design draws a minimal yet charming look.

The design philosophy centres on material warmness and natural light, which cohesively bridges the indoor and outdoor realms, and establish a calm, characterful atmosphere.

The space is finished in tactile Stucco Plaster walls along with a striking checkered marble floor. The space also features a dramatic arched balcony door, which frames lush greenery. A classical sculptural bust on a pedestal, dual framed mirrors, warm brass  sconces, and a fluted glass vanity adds depth and translucency, thus completing this experiential interior.

A thoughtful afternoon of conversations on what the future of Indian residential design should truly look like.

Aparna Kaushik participated in an enlightening panel discussion at the ET DesignScape Summit & Awards 2026 titled _"Beyond the Show Home: Designing Indian Residences for Liveability, Luxury, and Long-Term Value."_

The talk delved into a meaningful concept of luxury, exploring ideas looking at how homes are shaped around individuality, way of living, and long-term liveability, where architecture, interiors, materials, lighting and technology all work together as one cohesive experience.

Aparna shared her perspective on the inherent bespoke aspect of residential design, the importance of understanding family’s unique aspirations, and the rising potential of Indian design and manufacturing.

A significant discussion on curating homes that are not only intended to impress, but also to belong.

This residence, located in Chhatarpur, Delhi, is designed for a well-traveled family who wanted their home to reflect their deep appreciation for classical architecture.

This beautiful double-height entryway makes a formal entrance, welcoming guests with a splendid domed skylight. The design features a central chandelier, patterned marble detailing, arched openings, and a central table that anchors the space.

The overall design idea blends together classical proportions with a sense of openness. Thoughtfully framed views, stacked arches, exquisite details, and a restrained material palette combine to create a home that feels composed, welcoming, and connected, leaving a lasting impression of timeless elegance.

Identity
For Aparna Kaushik, architecture sits at the intersection of two lifelong fascinations: history and storytelling. The design philosophy of Kaushik’s studio focuses on the holistic. An understanding of the client’s preference is key, as in an in-depth understanding of the importance of art and history, which can create layers throughout the design process. Seeing a well-traveled family's inspiration becoming real is a pure magic. Here is the glimpse of designing a timeless villa inspired by classical architecture.

The concept follow one clear idea. It blends neo-classical charm with a practical way of traditional living in an Indian setting. From the formal living areas to an informal lounges, especially, the cigar/bar room, every space has its own piece of narrative.

Walking through villa, the look balances enduring details, warm material palette, and rich interiors. The design brings together clean and straight lines, introducing depth and reflection. Parisian inspiration proves that classical design is deeply personal.

The residence in Chennai is a sanctuary home for an 80-year-old mother, allowing her to live comfortably near his son who resides on the duplex level above.

The design was to prioritise free movement for an elderly resident. This is achieved through a clutter-free open planning maximising the circulation space. For seamless connectivity an internal elevator was also installed .

The interior balances warmth and classical elegance. This is contrasted with blue furniture and bespoke hand-painted wall art, creating a vibrant, inviting atmosphere blending with wooden panelling. A spiral staircase in glass and stucco adds a minimal, fluid touch.

For our Pune estate in Koregaon Park, an interesting emphasis is laid on the geometry of the octagon as a recurrent feature.

As one enters through the grand, double-height entrance and traverses the hallway to reach the central atrium, a fluidity in volumes, and thereby the grandeur of the spaces, can be experienced.

The villa, spread across about an acre, houses three generations of a family. Timelessness, therefore, had to be anchored at the core of the design. What’s uniquely characteristic of this villa is the reinterpretation of Gothic proportions which are not just a simplistic derivative of conventional motifs. The reinterpretation, despite its lengthy process, was necessary to develop a style that is equally relevant for all three generations.

Designing hallways presents an exciting opportunity to play with movement. Most spaces are designed for inhabiting and stillness, but hallway designs allow us to design for transcendental flow.

Some of the uniquely characterised hallways from our projects, varying in scale and intent, are highlighted above. These spaces create elements of interest through proportions, light and the way they connect the two adjoining spaces.

As a collective, our conduct is to cater to the minutest asks of every family member. That is not simply a difference in demands, but shifts in design languages. We have strategically used hallways as neutralising zones to maintain a cohesive grammar across the master plan!
