Mandala

Mandala Mandala focuses on art and artists, particularly Indian traditional arts and handlooms. In the Indian traditions of art, artist was rarely in limelight.

So was the case with writing, connoisseurship or documentation of the arts. Due to this a vast void remains in our understanding of the ancient Indian arts. Today with much better means of communication the traditional arts and artists still face a threat of extinction. Reasons may be a general lack of interest, awareness, lack of writings and connoisseurship of the traditional arts. The artist is

yet to receive her due share. Mandala works with these goals in mind. To understand the traditional arts one must understand the artist, her surroundings, culture, traditions, landscape and a lot more. It is the context that must be taken into account; this can lead to potential research and new interpretations.
