A group of artists all following an ancient style of painting popularly known as Madhubani/Mithila painting that started on the walls and found new life again on paper with the passage of time. Kachni Bharni is an attempt to bring together artists who are engaged in contemporary expressions derived from personal interactions with this folk style o

f painting. It symbolizes a synthesis of the personal and the collective expressions. Kachni-Bharni owes its existence to the teachings of the great Mithila painter, Santosh Kumar Das an exceptional artist and teacher of Mithila art. Kachni-Bharni aims at representing art that relates with life in its aspects.
