The Kaveri Project

The Kaveri Project To document the pollution of the river Kaveri - the lifeline of Karnataka. Have we learnt no lessons from the Ganga or the Yamuna ?

The river Kaveri is the source of life to a huge number of communities in Karnataka and beyond. It is revered as a sacred river by the people and a nurturing mother to the farmers who depend on it for their very lives. This wonderful bounty from nature is being ravaged by thoughtless townships, callous authorities and greedy builders. Pollutants (primarily raw sewage) is being released to the rive

r across the state, without a thought to the ecological and humanitarian disaster it will lead to. We need to act now to stop the Kaveri from becoming the tragedy of the south and restore it to its former pristine glory. This project aims to document the state of the river and bring it to the attention of those who are in a position to solve this mess. That begins with us - we have to stand up and lend our voice. So, please - watch this space.
