A great project for AH Coring Specialist Services, working across Blocks 1–4 over several months.

From reinforcement scanning and mechanical service penetrations to AOV openings, concrete cutting and Transpointer location transfer — this project had a bit of everything. 💪

And as some of the photos show… there was definitely no shortage of reinforcement to keep things interesting 😅

Nice local project completed in Limerick recently 👌
We installed two removable basketball hoops in a school yard — making sure everything was done safely and correctly from start to finish.
Before anything went into the ground we:
✔️ Scanned for underground services
✔️ Cored through the tar surface
✔️ Excavated to the correct depth
✔️ Installed reinforcement
✔️ Set and levelled the sleeves
The hoops can now be removed when needed so the yard can still be used for other activities during the school year.
Always great to work on projects that benefit the local community.

Phase 2 at Cork Airport completed — and this was a tough one 😅

Working with Mack Engineering, I carried out:
✔️ Coring through reinforced concrete columns
✔️ Reinforcement scanning to avoid rebars
✔️ Drilling for chemical anchors for steel base plates

All coring was done wet, with a controlled water connection and vacuum system capturing everything — no dust, no mess, in a live airport environment.
A lot of the work was done from a cherry picker, and yes… we ran into around 32mm rebar right where the holes were needed.

Challenging, technical, and demanding — but a great result in the end 💪
That’s specialist work done right.

✈️ Cork Airport – Phase 1 DONE!

Flat out for weeks, running through project after project…
but the basement level at Cork Airport is officially finished!

✔️ Structural beam investigations
✔️ Reinforcement scanning
✔️ Plenty of core drilling

Between the concrete surprises and the airport shutdown rules, the drill got more action than I did 😂

On to Phase 2 next!

We wrapped up a ventilation & kitchen extraction coring job for Conroy Construction & Plant Hire Ltd in Clifden. Scope included:
4-inch cores
6-inch cores
Even with a challenging site layout, every vent and pipe was installed safely, on time, and with perfect alignment.

🏗️ Client: BAM UK & Ireland
🛠️ Service: Structural Core Drilling — 10" & 12" Cores up to 1.200Mm Deep

What a project this one was!
Working on the Ceannt Station Redevelopment with BAM Building in Galway was a real experience — proper old-school building with plenty of surprises hidden in the walls.
We were coring 10-inch and 12-inch holes, anywhere from 200mm to 1200mm deep, through a mix of stone, brick, and block.
Every core felt like a mystery until you pulled it out — you never quite knew what you were going to hit next!
💪 It was tough work, but that’s what makes it satisfying.
The purpose of all this coring? To make way for I-beams being fitted into existing walls — precision and alignment were key here.

🛠️ Two Challenging Coring Jobs Completed!
We recently tackled two tricky projects:
🏡 100+ Year Old Cottage – Two cores through 570mm thick stone walls, up to 2m high, second core precisely 600mm from the footpath.
🏠 Domestic Property in Athlone – 100mm (4-inch) cores, rough stone walls 600mm thick, heights up to 6m. Anchoring was tricky, but all completed safely and accurately.
Both jobs were challenging, but with the right tools and expertise, everything went perfectly. Another happy customer! 💪
