WORLD WETLANDS EVENT 2: KNOCKNAHILA BOG REWETTING PROJECT: BOG WALK AND TALK

Saturday, 7th of February 11:30am. This bog walk and talk is organised by Clare County Council’s Biodiversity Officer and Knocknahila Community Biodiversity Group. The field outing will describe the peatland ecology of Knocknahila Bog, demonstrate the peat dams and peat bunds that were installed to facilitate rewetting and hear from the landowner, members of Knocknahila Biodiversity Community Group and the Biodiversity Officer on the work that was completed. This event would suit local communities, farmers and interested individuals on the techniques and design of peatland rewetting and contracting.
