This was a recent project completed in The Naul for good friends of mine, Al Foran and Alison Foran.
They came to me looking for ideas on how to work around the boxed-in waste pipe on the right-hand side of the chimney breast. After discussing a few options, we decided the best solution was to create matching alcove units on both sides, giving the room a clean, balanced and symmetrical finish.
We used white units from The Pannelling Centre to provide plenty of extra storage, along with 2x2 timber framing and plasterboard to create the shelving and framework before finishing everything with plaster. The units were then painted in Farrow & Ball White, which really brightens the space and gives it a timeless look.
If you're thinking about adding a feature wall, media unit or bespoke alcove storage to your home and would like some ideas or advice, send me a DM today. We'd be delighted to help bring your vision to life.
