I am really happy with how this hall, stairs, and landing pannelling project turned out. The client wanted floor to ceiling pannelling to refresh the space without making it look bulky. To achieve that clean, elegant style, we used a 30mm beading for the box detail and a slightly larger 40mm dado rail, giving definition while keeping everything sleek and balanced.
The finish is Skimming Stone by Farrow & Ball, which works beautifully with the natural light and really enhances the overall look of the space. This type of pannelling is perfect for transforming areas like hallways and staircases, adding character while keeping a modern, timeless feel.

Some lovely box pannelling I recently completed. This was a little different from the usual style of panelling I do. The client wanted smaller boxes and larger spacing between the pannels, so I adjusted the gaps between the pannels to 200mm instead of the standard 100mm, which really changed the overall feel of the design. We finished it off with a slim 30mm dado rail, which adds an elegant feel without overpowering the wall. The paint is black and blue from colour trend. I'm really happy with how this turned out, a clean, neat finish that transforms the whole area. Before Christmas, we completed a really exciting project in Portmarnock! The client came to us with a vision, and together, we designed this stunning feature wall.
The TV unit was built using 3x2 timbers, then covered with MDF and wrapped in warm oak acoustic panelling for a sleek, modern look. Led lights were also fitted around the TV. The open space on the left was underutilized, so we added built-in wall units at the bottom and floating shelves with spotlights above. To tie it all together, we used matching acoustic panels at the back of the shelves.
The transformation was incredible, and here are some photos showing the project from start to finish.

This is a panelling project in Malahide that I recently completed The client gave me the freedom to design the layout, and through a combination of her input and my own ideas, we created a spacious, modern finish that makes full use of the available space. I was particularly happy with how the large panels on the stairwell and the high ceilings turned out. This style of panelling has become increasingly popular in recent years, with clients looking to maximise both space and impact. The project was finished using slaked lime paint, which beautifully brightens the area and adds depth to the overall look.

This is a recent project completed in Swords, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. The client gave me full freedom to design the entire layout from start to finish. As you can see, the transformation from a blank canvas to large box panelling completely elevates the space, highlighting the high ceilings and giving the home a fresh, modern look.

The beads were sourced from .ie , a larger dado rail was used for the centre rail, and the paint colour is Old Bone by Colourtrend.

This project was such a fun one to bring to life! The client came to us with a really clear vision, and we loved getting stuck into all the details that made it unique. We custom-made the units from scratch to get the exact sizes we needed, then added warm oak acoustic panelling to frame the space and give it that cosy, modern feel.

The solid oak shelves were a perfect match, especially once we added the Philips LED lighting underneath, it gives the whole wall a soft, inviting glow. We wrapped everything in MDF and finished it in Bridal Path colour, which has such a rich tone and ties all the textures together beautifully.

Everything just clicked with this one, and we’re genuinely so proud of how it turned out!

A recent project completed in Portmarnock. Our client wanted to make better use of the space on either side of their fireplace. We designed and built custom shelving and storage units to create a stylish, functional feature wall.

The frame and shelving were constructed using 2x2 timbers and MDF, with base units sourced from the Panelling Centre. LED lighting strips were fitted beneath the shelves to add a clean, modern finish.

Painted in Hopper Head by Farrow & Ball, this colour pairs beautifully with the existing flooring. It is a simple yet elegant design that really transformed the room.

Lean-to side roof completed! Our client wanted to make use of their side alley for extra storage space while keeping plenty of natural light, so we built this using treated timber and finished it with a 15mm polycarbonate roof for a bright, durable finish.

✨Fresh Panelling Transformation in Malahide! ✨

We’ve just finished some gorgeous panelling work:

🏡 Hall, Stairs & Landing - classic beading with a dado rail (our most popular style!) that completely lifts and brightens the space.

🛏️ Bedroom – sleek MDF with a chunky bead on top for that elegant, boutique-hotel feel.

📺 TV Unit – 12 mm MDF sheets with 100 mm strips for a crisp, modern look – and we’re delighted with how it turned out!

A little detail makes a big difference

How to Fit 70mm x 22mm Wall Panelling Without Putting All the Weight on the Wall

Project Goal:

Install 70mm x 22mm timber wall panelling with structural support from 4x4 posts, bypassing reliance on a potentially weak 4-inch wall.

✅ What You’ll Need:

Materials:

70mm x 22mm timber panels

4x4 posts (100mm x 100mm) — structural support

Timber battens (optional, for cross-support)

Screws, plugs, concrete screws

Concrete mix

Tools:

Drill & screwdriver

Spirit level

Saw

Tape measure

Nail gun (optional, for faster fixing)

8-inch drill for drilling out holes for 4x4 posts

🧰 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Plan & Measure

Measure the wall space where you’ll install panelling.

Decide how far apart your 4x4 posts will be — usually every 600mm to 1000mm, depending on the span and panelling weight.

Mark floor positions for the posts.

Step 2: Cut & Place 4x4 Posts

Cut each 4x4 post to the full height.

Stand them upright at your marked points, ensuring they're plumb (use a spirit level).

Fix each post to the floor securely using concrete mix

Optionally, fix tops to the wall for extra stability.

Step 3: Add Horizontal Supports (Optional)

If your panelling needs more fixing points, add horizontal timber battens (noggins) between posts.

These can be placed at roughly 500mm–600mm intervals up the wall.

Screw or bracket them into the 4x4 posts.

Step 4: Fit the 70mm x 22mm Panels

Starting from one side, attach each panel directly to the face of the 4x4 posts

Use screws or a nail gun.
