The ACRE Project, Celbridge and Arts in Co Kildare welcome applications to the Artist in Residence programme, based in The ACRE Project, Celbridge, County Kildare.

Professional artists, socially engaged artists, and/or collectives practicing in any art form are encouraged to apply for a 10-month residency (September 2026 – June 2027). The Artist in Residence Bursary Award will support and resource an artist to develop their professional practice and/or develop a specific artistic project, alongside a programme of public-facing workshops or events to engage communities from the local area.
The ACRE Project Artist in Residence Award will provide an artist with an Artist in Residence Award (€15,000); access to office facilities and workshop space at the ACRE Project; 10-month residency in the ACRE Project’s creative space (September 2026 – June 2027), incorporating access to resources for sustained professional development alongside public-facing workshops or events. The selected artist(s) will develop and deliver a series of workshops or events at The ACRE across the duration of the residency, creating opportunities for a broad cohort of individuals and communities from the wider Celbridge area to engage.
Applications are welcome from socially engaged artists and/or collectives practicing in any artform who represent the diversity of Irish society and from artists whose first language is not English.
The ACRE Residency is funded by Kildare County Council Arts Service, as part of its Arts, Health and Wellbeing programme, with grant aid from the The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the Health Service Executive. Now in its 5th cycle, previous recipients of the award were Martina McDonald, Krystal Sweedman, Embrace Music (Sadhbh O’Sullivan and Sharon Murphy) and Ailish Claffey.
