Most people in Ireland think there are only two options —
rent forever or take out a massive mortgage.

There's a third one that not many people talk about.

Avrame builds A-frame timber kit homes that you can
place on your own land and assemble in a matter of months.
Fully compliant with Irish building regulations.

Worth looking into if you're tired of the usual options.

Fast, Attainable Housing with the Solo 75 A-Frame

At Avrame Ireland, we’ve been exploring how kit homes can deliver affordable, realistic, and fast-to-build housing — and the Solo 75 is a perfect example.

Recently, we partnered with a local construction team to see just how quickly a Solo 75 can go from foundation to watertight structure. Over 14 days, the team completed:
- Foundation and subfloor – concrete, mesh, block, and timber secured to achieve a raised, breathable base
- Walls and roof – pre-cut trusses assembled on-site, numbered and labelled for easy installation
- Windows and doors – fully triple-glazed, including a tilt-out window with balcony access
- Gables and flashing – ensuring the structure is watertight

While the interior finishing and utilities aren’t in place yet, the exterior is fully functional and built to high standards. The Solo 75 features a loft sleeping area, space for a compact kitchen and bathroom, and potential for clever storage underneath. Its timber frame is C24 grade, providing extra strength and durability, while allowing airflow beneath insulation to prevent condensation — a common challenge in timber builds.

One standout feature of the Solo 75 is its flexibility: the raised design works well for uneven ground or integration with existing structures, and the kit can be customized with decks, hot tubs, or additional insulation depending on the buyer’s needs.

For anyone considering small-scale living, Airbnb investments, or a guest house, the Solo 75 demonstrates that a high-quality, pre-fabricated home can go up quickly without sacrificing durability or style.

Our aim with projects like this is simple: attainable, well-priced homes, built fast, and with realistic expectations. For those interested in exploring kit homes in Ireland, the Solo 75 offers a glimpse of what’s possible — from planning to a fully framed structure in just two weeks.

Our Solo 75 is coming together with one clear goal — a clean, functional 1-bed apartment layout that feels open, bright and easy to live in.

Here’s the plan:

• Open-plan kitchen + living
• Full bathroom with proper shower
• Loft bedroom with that classic A-frame feel
• A relaxed chill area under the big windows

A compact layout designed to make the most of the space and natural light.

If you’re thinking about building, send us a message or book a consult — happy to talk through options.

When people ask about the structure of an Avrame home, one of the first things we talk about is the timber.

We use C24 structural-grade timber in our Avrame kits.

What does that actually mean?

✔ Strength Rated – C24 is machine-graded for structural performance.
✔ Load Bearing – Designed to handle the demands of roof loads, wind loads, and long-term use.
✔ Straight & Stable – Fewer knots, better consistency, less movement.
✔ Built to Last – Ideal for exposed A-frame structures where the timber does real work.

In an A-frame, the structure is the statement.
The timber isn’t hidden — it’s doing the heavy lifting visually and structurally.

That’s why quality matters.

No cutting corners.
No mystery materials.
Just engineered timber, designed to perform.

If you’ve questions about what’s included in the Avrame kit or how it compares to traditional builds, drop them below 👇 or book a consult through the link in bio.

One thing people don’t always realise about this build 👇

The whole structure is designed to breathe.

With the three-strip foundation system, there’s full airflow underneath the house, which massively reduces common issues like:
• condensation
• trapped moisture
• timber frame problems over time

Because air is always moving under the subfloor and insulation, moisture doesn’t get the chance to sit where it normally would in a traditional timber build.

It also means things like radon are far less of a concern, thanks to constant airflow below.

Simple idea.
Smart ex*****on.
And exactly how a modern timber home should be built.

More progress updates coming as we keep moving 👌
