Turn an eyesore into the focal point of your kitchen - this Ripple cabinet was custom built to cover up the electrical panel, and also doubling as a coffee station with shelves for displaying coffee cups and storing accessories.

One of my favourite builds so far, installing it and seeing fit just right was so satisfying 👌🏽

The Ripple Cabinet is a custom kitchen wall cabinet made of Ash. Originally designed to cover up an eyesore - the electrical box, but why stop there? So I turned it into the centrepiece for the kitchen.

I’ve been experimenting with incorporating soft shapes into my woodwork and I wanted something more playful for these big cabinet doors. When I came across these lovely brass k***s, I knew I wanted to incorporate them into my design. The final product was inspired by the ripples from pebbles thrown into a pond, adding drama to an otherwise bland wall cabinet.

A big solid door meant it was susceptible to wood movement, so I threw in a couple of walnut sliding dovetails to the back of these doors to prevent warping and cupping.

Looking forward to installing this piece!

Low Stool in White Oak & Ash - the brief was simple, a nice looking low stool to replace a plastic stool.

Designing something “nice” is never easy, because “nice” is subjective. Unofficially, there are about a million ways to build a stool, and this is what I decided to go with.

Simple lines and humble mortise and tenon joints. Reliable and unobtrusive.

For me, that, is nice.

I find a lot of joy in building things myself.

There’s something deeply satisfying in seeing something go from an idea to a structure and gradually take its final form.

If you have an idea that you want to bring to life, drop us a DM and ask about a Private DIY Workshop!

An absolute honour to be commissioned to fit a set of legs on to the late Mr Kevin Fung’s unfinished sculpted work and to be able to appreciate his work up close.

It’s a deeply humbling experience to work on a piece that someone else had started, especially one that’s made by a very talented artist like Mr Fung, and it’s an experience I’m very grateful to have had.

Having a carved solid wood cabinet door means having to account for wood movement and potential warping.

The Sliding Dovetail is a great way to reinforce the door without adding any metal hardware to keep the aesthetic clean.

Very pleased with how these walnut sliding dovetails turned out 👌🏽

With our last Youth Woodworking Basics Course finished up, that’s a wrap for this summer!

It’s been a lot of fun seeing all the creativity at work. Our teenage woodworkers did a great job with their self-designed joinery projects made with hand tools. Also some cool projects made with 3D design software and cut on the CNC machine!

We are aiming to run more youth classes, stayed tuned and let us know if you’re interested!
