Tonight at Happy Valley Racecourse, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘳 (競駿奔騰) will step out in Race 1, a Class 5 sprint over 1000 metres on turf. Breaking from Barrier 4, he will be partnered with Jockey Vincent Ho.

In his last start, Young Striker raced prominently outside the lead but faced a challenging finish—laying in under pressure, making contact with a rival, and eventually finishing 8th. After the race, the horse was found to be a “roarer.”

To aid his recovery and preparation, Trainer Chris So sent the gelding to Conghua for two barrier trials. Commenting on tonight’s race, Chris expects a standard tempo and is hoping for a clean jump to give Young Striker every opportunity to finish strongly. With a favourable inside draw and a freshened preparation, the stable is looking forward to an encouraging performance.

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 (競駿非凡) - Race Result on 13 May 2026

Last night at Happy Valley Racecourse, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 (競駿非凡) contested Race 7, a Class 4 sprint over 1200 metres on turf from Barrier 12, ridden by Jockey Ethan Brown. Racing three wide throughout, he nevertheless produced a strong finish in the Home Straight to cross the line in 3rd, just 1‑3/4 lengths behind the winner.

Jockey Ethan Brown commented that it was a good run given the wide gate, highlighting the gelding’s determined closing effort. Trainer Douglas Whyte added that Young Arrow pulled up fine and moved well after the race, expressing satisfaction with the way he ran. With his consistency and resilience in Class 4, the stable is encouraged by his performance and will look ahead to his next assignment.

Tonight at Happy Valley Racecourse, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 (競駿非凡) will contest Race 7, a Class 4 sprint over 1200 metres on turf. Breaking from Barrier 12, he will be partnered by jockey Ethan Brown. Young Arrow has already shown promise at this level, recording one win and one third from his two previous starts over the Class 4 1200‑metre trip.

In his last outing, he was held up for clear running between the 250‑metre and 100‑metre marks, yet still finished a determined third. Trainer Douglas Whyte confirmed that Young Arrow is healthy and pulled up well from that race. He added that while jumping from a wide draw will be a test, riding him slightly quieter may help bring out his best.

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘰𝘯 (競駿輝煌) - Race Result on 9 May 2026

Last Saturday at Sha Tin Racecourse, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘰𝘯 (競駿輝煌) contested Race 11, a Class 2 sprint over 1200 metres on turf from Barrier 5, partnered with Jockey Brenton Avdulla. Despite his recent strong form, this time he struggled to find his rhythm on the “Good to Yielding” track conditions. In the Home Straight, Young Champion did not respond to Brenton’s urgings and was unable to produce a proper run, eventually finishing 12th.

Jockey Brenton Avdulla attributed the performance to the ground not suiting him, while Trainer John Size confirmed the gelding pulled up well after the race. With his condition intact, the stable will now begin planning for Young Champion’s next assignment.
