Architectural Design & Permitting
(EN) Architectural proposal for the renovation and extension of an existing building in Metsovo. The project reinterprets the traditional mountain house through a contemporary hospitality experience, balancing the weight of the stone shell with the warmth and precision of timber and steel construction. A defining element of the proposal is the revival of the sachnisi as a living and viewing space. Wrapped in a filter of rotating timber louvers, it regulates privacy, sunlight and views towards the surrounding mountain landscape, creating a transitional zone between the intimacy of the interior and the openness of the place.

(ΕΛ) Αρχιτεκτονική πρόταση για την ανακαίνιση και επέκταση υφιστάμενου κτιρίου στο Μέτσοβο. Το έργο επανερμηνεύει την παραδοσιακή ορεινή κατοικία μέσα από μια σύγχρονη εμπειρία φιλοξενίας, ισορροπώντας το βάρος του πέτρινου κελύφους με τη θερμότητα και την κατασκευαστική ακρίβεια του ξύλου και του μετάλλου. Χαρακτηριστικό στοιχείο της πρότασης αποτελεί η αναβίωση του σαχνισιού ως χώρου διημέρευσης και θέασης. Τυλιγμένο μέσα σε ένα φίλτρο περιστρεφόμενων ξύλινων περσίδων, ρυθμίζει την ιδιωτικότητα, τον φυσικό φωτισμό και τις φυγές προς το ορεινό τοπίο, δημιουργώντας μια ενδιάμεση ζώνη ανάμεσα στην εσωτερική θαλπωρή και την ανοιχτότητα του τόπου.

(EN) Complete conversion of a former garage, part of a residential building, into an independent short-term rental suite. The project transforms a low-value, underused space through a radical renovation, creating a compact hospitality unit with a strong sense of privacy and atmosphere. The plan is organized around a central service cube, which conceals the kitchen, wardrobe, storage and WC, allowing the remaining space to stay open, calm and efficient. The sleeping area, kitchenette, bathroom and private courtyard are treated as a continuous living experience, extending the room beyond its original limits. Earth-toned surfaces, glass blocks, soft curtains, custom woodwork and indirect lighting create a warm, intimate environment. Through precise spatial organization and careful material treatment, the project turns a secondary garage space into a high-value rental apartment for short stays.

(ΕΛ) Η πρόταση αφορά τη ριζική μετατροπή ενός πρώην χώρου στάθμευσης, τμήματος υφιστάμενης κατοικίας, σε αυτόνομη σουίτα βραχυχρόνιας διαμονής. Το έργο αναδεικνύει την κρυμμένη δυναμική ενός υποχρησιμοποιημένου χώρου, χαμηλής αξίας, μετασχηματίζοντάς το σε μια compact μονάδα φιλοξενίας με έντονη αίσθηση ιδιωτικότητας και ατμόσφαιρας. Η κάτοψη οργανώνεται γύρω από έναν κεντρικό λειτουργικό κύβο, ο οποίος ενσωματώνει και αποκρύπτει την κουζίνα, τις ντουλάπες, τους αποθηκευτικούς χώρους και το WC, επιτρέποντας στον υπόλοιπο χώρο να παραμείνει ανοιχτός, ήρεμος και αποδοτικός. Ο χώρος ύπνου, η μικρή κουζίνα, το λουτρό και η ιδιωτική αυλή αντιμετωπίζονται ως μια ενιαία εμπειρία κατοίκησης, επεκτείνοντας τα όρια του δωματίου πέρα από το αρχικό περίγραμμα του γκαράζ. Γήινες επιφάνειες, υαλότουβλα, μαλακές υφές, ειδικές ξυλοκατασκευές και έμμεσος φωτισμός συνθέτουν ένα ζεστό και οικείο περιβάλλον. Μέσα από ακριβή χωρική οργάνωση και προσεκτική υλικότητα, ένας δευτερεύων βοηθητικός χώρος μετατρέπεται σε διαμέρισμα βραχυχρόνιας διαμονής υψηλής υπεραξίας.

(EN) Reinterpretation of the academic campus as a space of creativity and openness. The proposal for the new School of Fine Arts envisions a structure that bridges nature and art, transparency and solidity. Educational and workshop spaces are organized around a central atrium filled with natural light, fostering interaction and experimentation. The surrounding landscape becomes part of the architectural composition, forming a seamless dialogue between inside and outside. Through clear geometry, sustainable strategies, and a restrained material palette, the project expresses a contemporary vision of art education in harmony with its environment.

(ΕΛ) Η πρόταση επανερμηνεύει την έννοια της ακαδημαϊκής πανεπιστημιούπολης ως έναν ανοιχτό τόπο δημιουργίας, συνάντησης και πειραματισμού. Η νέα Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών συγκροτείται ως ένα κτίριο-τοπίο, όπου η φύση και η τέχνη, η διαφάνεια και η στιβαρότητα, συνυπάρχουν σε μια ενιαία χωρική εμπειρία. Οι χώροι διδασκαλίας και τα εργαστήρια οργανώνονται γύρω από ένα κεντρικό αίθριο φυσικού φωτός, το οποίο λειτουργεί ως πυρήνας κίνησης, επικοινωνίας και συλλογικής ζωής. Το γύρω τοπίο δεν αντιμετωπίζεται ως φόντο, αλλά ως ενεργό τμήμα της σύνθεσης, ενισχύοντας τη συνέχεια ανάμεσα στο μέσα και το έξω. Μέσα από καθαρές γεωμετρίες, βιοκλιματικές στρατηγικές και μια λιτή υλικότητα, το έργο εκφράζει ένα σύγχρονο όραμα για την καλλιτεχνική εκπαίδευση σε αρμονία με το περιβάλλον της.
