Picked up several bags of compost, mulch, plants & some extra bits to fill out one of my customers garden borders.
Instead of dousing borders with weedkiller, try to fight back the weeds, with plants that you do want to see.
Look at what your garden is trying to tell you.
Particular "weeds"
(They're all still plants at the end of the day)
will thrive in certain conditions.
In this situation, we're dealing with what is essentially
"dead soil".
Dirt basically.
Extremely low in fresh organic material, & severely lacking vital nutrients and minerals.
Is it any wonder that the plants struggle, or that hardly any insects, or worms decide to pay a visit...
The food chain has vanished.
Soil condition is something that often gets overlooked.
With some fresh compost, mulch, granulated seaweed, and some hardy perennials, I am confident that these borders will transform into flowerbeds that will become awash with flowers, filled with colour and also provide a haven for the bugs & bees.
