From an odd little toilet utility room to walk-in wet room... with an original belfast sink!

Underfloor heating, proper humidity controlled extractor fan, fully tanked, porcelain tiles & linear floor drain.

Customer still considering what to do with the sloped ceiling (sparkly mosaic for me), decorating and LED strip lighting to be installed in the near future, but as the wall baskets testify to, its already in constant use.

The steam punk water softener buried 3 feet deep in concrete was a challenge. Anybody else ever seen one of those?

Every so often, a job comes along that’s a bit different.

Although my main trade is electrical work, I’ve picked up plenty of experience across domestic projects over the years, and this deck was a great one to get stuck into.

The 6x6 posts were a challenge single-handed, and the wasps certainly made sure I didn’t get too comfortable, but I’m really pleased with the finished result.

A great project for a client with a clear vision, some good ideas, and a brilliant setting to work with.

Sub distribution board swap.
Very poor installation and incorrect overload protection and eh voilà..... magic smoke has left the chat.
The list of faults was endless... no earthing to armoured cables, razor sharp entry holes cutting cable insulation, single insulation open to touch, under rated devices, loose connections, incorrect colour codes........
I'd have preferred to have fitted an industrial board, but sometimes you have to work with what you have.
Much better now, and a plan going forward to improve the load distribution.

I'd forgotten about this one.
alarm engineer started this, pulled the old consumer to replace it and reinstate the fire panel.
Site AP sees it, checks the man's qualifications (or lack off) and kicks him off site!
Enter yours truly....
Pretty.... no.
Functional and all circuits tested....yes.
'Interesting' conversation afterwards?...... oh bloody hell yes.

Anybody remember the Young Riders 1971, Wymondham Leicestershire?

This old clock would have been heading for the bin until we saw the plaque.

I'd have loved to have got the old mains syncro movement working but spares are like hens teeth. So a simple quartz movement and a good clean up and I wonder if it'll do another 55 years?

Steady morning upgrading the lighting at Wymondham Village Hall.

With energy costs being what they are, we kept the existing fittings and converted them to LED rather than replacing everything, keeping costs down for the customer.

Power usage has dropped from around 1400W to 500W, so they’ll see a real saving on their bills, plus less maintenance with long-life LED tubes.
