ESI Technology Ltd Pressure Transmitters, Pressure Transducers, Pressure Sensors Since 2009 ESI Technology has been an independently run part of SUCO GmbH.

Originally Ellison Sensors, ESI Technology manufactures and designs everything in the purpose built facility in Wrexham, UK. From this base, over three quarters of the products are exported around the globe to all the major industrialised countries. ESI Technology pressure transducers and pressure transmitters were originally designed for challenging aerospace and military applications. A variety of technologies have been used according to the application but nowadays the Silicon-on-Sapphire technology is the jewel in the crown. Silicon-on-Sapphire technology gives superior performance to older construction methods and combined with a titanium diaphragm and all titanium wetted parts provides excellent physical and chemical resistance. That is why some of the biggest manufacturers in the aerospace industry, defence industry, automotive and subsea oil and gas choose ESI Technology pressure sensors. We believe that two- way communication between us and our customers is important. As designers and manufacturers for many years, we understand the products and help our customers to achieve the solutions they require. As both the products and the markets for them evolve we are always seeking new partners – distributors, system integrators and OEM. Pressure Transducers Pressure measurement is often conducted in critical conditions. Replacement sensor cost is sometimes not as important as reliability. That is why ESI Technology pressure transducers and transmitters are pre-conditioned for their environment. Testing is an integral part of our manufacturing processes which is why you can rely on an ESI Technology pressure sensor. Different industries have different quality standards. For example, for control valves in Subsea Control Modules ESI Technology provide hyperbaric test certificates (to 4000 metres) as standard. Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) is also offered. For hazardous areas and intrinsically safe applications ESI Technology have a range of pressure sensors with ATEX and IECEx certification for Gas Atmospheres, Dust Atmospheres and Mining. All products can be supplied with full documentation including certificates of conformity, calibration certificates, and material certificates etc. – all generated as a matter of course by our quality systems. ESI Technology works closely with local business groups and academia, completing projects with Glyndŵr University.

Measuring pressure is a lot tougher when you move several thousand metres below the surface.

Downhole pressure transmitters can face a challenging combination of high pressure, high temperatures, vibration and shock, pressure spikes, limited installation space and long operating periods.

Today’s article explores the challenges of downhole pressure measurement, including the role of sensor technology, materials, temperature stability and pressure range.

We also take a closer look at the ESI HI5000, our compact high-pressure, high-temperature transmitter for specialist downhole applications such as LWD, MWD, PWD and well integrity.

What happens if a subsea pressure transmitter fails?

Without dual redundancy it would mean a major subsea intervention!

But what does “dual redundancy” actually mean? And why is it so important when equipment may be thousands of metres below the surface?

We take a closer look at dual redundancy, how it works and where it can be useful in subsea pressure measurement. 👇

Oil. Gas. Water. Hydrogen. Chemicals.

They might all be measured in pressure, but that doesn’t mean you can use the same pressure transmitter for every application.

Our latest article looks at the key factors to consider, from water and hydraulic fluids to gases, hydrogen, aggressive chemicals and dirty or viscous media.

What makes submersible, depth and level pressure measurement different?

Measuring pressure below the surface brings a different set of challenges.

From choosing the right pressure reference to dealing with water ingress, cable construction, temperature, corrosion and pressure spikes, there’s more to consider than simply selecting a transmitter with the right pressure range.

Our latest article looks at the key factors to consider when specifying pressure transmitters for:

💧Submersible applications
💧Depth measurement
💧Liquid level measurement
💧Water, wastewater and environmental monitoring
💧Tanks, wells and boreholes

We also take a closer look at vented gauge, sealed gauge and absolute pressure and explain how each reference works in these applications.

And, if you're joining our upcoming webinar on submersible, depth and level pressure transmitters, this is a great introduction to the subject.

The final race is almost here! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️

Earlier this year, Linda and Martin took on a huge challenge: the Chester Triple.

Three races. One fundraising goal. And quite a lot of training!

They’ve already completed the Chester 10K in March and the Chester Half Marathon in May, raising an incredible £1,010 along the way.

Now it’s time for the BIG one...

🏅 Chester Marathon | 11 October

Linda will be taking on the Metric Marathon, while Martin tackles the full Marathon!

They’re raising funds for Pebbles Department at St. Christopher’s School in Wrexham, which supports children aged 6–12 with complex needs, including ASD, speech, language, communication and attention difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and sensory, physical and medical needs.

The funds raised will help provide much-needed resources to support the children as they learn, develop and move through their time at St. Christopher’s.

The target is £2,000 or more, and they’re already over halfway there!

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Your support means so much and every single pound makes a difference.

If you can spare a donation to help them reach that final target, please visit their JustGiving page:

https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/linda-jones-332?utm_medium=CF&utm_source=EM

And if you can’t donate, sharing the fundraiser could make a huge difference too!

Good luck Linda and Martin! 🏃 🏃‍♀️ 🍀

Round 2 of our Mission Unpluggable workshops has been completed 🙌🏼

What can we take away from these sessions? Randal Hodson explains…

“When introducing a new operating system, nothing drives home an understanding of the benefits of the change like a hands-on simulation exercise.

Our production simulation involved every member of the ESI team, creating a realistic representation of day-to-day operations, enabling participants to understand how the new operating system will affect processes, roles, decision-making, and performance outcomes.

Readiness for change is all too easy to overlook or undervalue when driving for excellence. Teams can find it difficult to visualise changes through presentations alone. Our hands-on simulation bridges this gap by allowing participants to apply new concepts in a practical setting and immediately observe the impact on productivity, quality, communication, and workflow.

Our production simulation exercise has provided an environment for our colleagues to:
• Understand the purpose and principles of the new operating system.
• Experience the differences between current and future operating practices.
• Recognize the operational and business benefits of the new approach.
• Develop confidence in applying new tools, processes, and behaviours.
• Strengthen collaboration across functional boundaries.
• Increase commitment and readiness for implementation.

Our sessions covered everything from strategy to 5S, HSE to line balancing, leadership to kaizen, and much, much more.

Furthermore, the spin-off benefits of allowing future talent to shine in a safe environment and enjoying social time together cannot be understated. Several of our presenters had never delivered training, coaching and facilitation of this kind previously, and yet they were brilliant!”

Well done team! 👏🏼👏🏼
