Keys locked in the boot? This is the most common callout I get, especially when someone is loading shopping or getting the dog settled.
Many modern keyless cars rely on sensors to detect the fob. If the key is hidden in a coat pocket, handbag or shopping bag, or the boot is closed in a particular sequence, the car may not recognise that the key is still inside and lock itself.
A simple habit can prevent it: keep the key fob in your hand or place it on the roof while loading, then check you have it before closing the boot.
If it does happen, don’t reach for a brick. I provide professional, non-destructive vehicle entry across the Lake District, coming to your location with the right specialist tools. I can gain access without damage and without smashed windows.
