Before & After ✔️

Little freshen up in this 200+ Yr old house. Not a straight line in sight.

Ceilings finished in Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell tinted to Clement White.

Walls in Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt tinted to F&B Nancy's Blush.

Woodwork given a quick freshen up with a custom colour of stain. A mix between Burma Teak and Rosewood.

Suretherm anti condensation thermal insulating paint used on cold spots/problem areas by the door. Interesting to work with. I'll do a full review in the future.

I've actually done a video on this job. A little "come paint with me" tutorial. That's over on my YouTube channel. Head over for a look. I've neglected the YouTube a little bit the past year or so.

Still on a week off. Busy period when I start back. Interior season! 😀

I've slimmed down on the amount of pictures taken vs posted on this one.

Someone said you guys only want to see the before & after pics and not the stages of the problems/prep/journey. What's the general consensus? More or less pictures?

Toupret UK Joint, Skim & Fill QD powder sorted the walls out here for me. This house is approx 200 years old. The walls will never be perfect, I don't do perfect, I do a lot of work on older houses, restoration work etc. I'm not a high end, glass smooth decorator in big posh houses, 2 completely different services. But Toupret allows me to achieve a surface that I can work with, 100 x better than they are beforehand.

Ceilings were finished in Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell in Clement White.

Walls were finished in Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt tinted to Copenhagen Roof. Followed by a couple of coats of Polyvine Ltd flat clear. Yes Heritage Velvet Matt is a class 1 durable, however, due to no extraction in this kitchen space, I wanted to ensure maximum protection.

The cupboards were stripped of the failed coating. Uniprimer tinted to top coat followed by Heritage Eggshell in Golden Ivory, finished in Polyvine.

Today is the start of a week off for me. Resting up before returning to interior season. Enquiries will be responded to, although delayed.

Only a small job this time.

Surrounds in Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry tinted to F&B pigeon.

Door was prepped and smoothed out with Toupret UK woodfiller and finished in Weathershield Satin in Fossil Trace.

Black strip reinstated with Bedec: The Paint Company MSP in Black Satin.

This isn't a service that I offer, this was a favour to a friend that has had their plasterer move away, just to tidy up an area they had, using their leftover materials, some of the board was in terrible condition and the plaster was out of date, which produced several issues, but we got there.

If you have followed me for a while you will have seen that I will do small patch repairs or single walls myself as part of a larger decorating project, but with a torn ACJ in my left shoulder (left handed), facet arthrosis in my lower spine and long term effects after surgery for cauda equina syndrome (I'm in great shape btw 🤣) I'm not really a fan of boarding out, hardwalling or skimming full rooms anymore. But as long as my lungs have air in them, I'll graft. Injuries are just trophies for hard workers! 🤣 The message is, please don't contact me for your plastering work.

Finished in Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry tinted to F&B G14 Folly Pink.

Toupret UK Masonry Repair filler for the cracks and the mapping.

Almost there now! Just a couple of exteriors to go then back inside.

If you phone me during the day to make an enquiry and I don't answer (often the case when I'm working (ladders or mid filling etc)), I will respond when I can and ask you to leave a written message with your name and reason for enquiry.
If you don't do that, please don't get sh*tty with me several days later.
Believe it or not I don't finish a days graft, get home and then start calling back all the missed calls. I respond to the enquiries via message that have responded, whilst cleaning my gear, sorting other business admin, trying to cook dinner and be present at home.
I'm not a massive team of admin staff, I'm just one bloke grafting my bo****ks off 7 days a week to do the admin, to do the quotes, to do the work, to also try and live a life. Your lack of planning is not me 'f**king your week up'. Most decent trades run several months ahead.
This isn't aimed at everyone, 99% of people who enquire or book are absolutely amazing. There's just that 1% of throbbers that I encounter in my daily working life that make me want to stop the worlds orbit and get off.
