New painting…. This time in acrylic. I am working on a new collection of artworks based on the dry summer, poppy fields and parched land. The collection will be made up of watercolours and oils and this one was a surprise to be honest. I used acrylics which I don’t normally ever use to quickly get an idea I had in my head down onto paper. I didn’t overthink anything. I just painted using a photo from the summer as reference. Slightly scared to put this out there because it’s quite different from the work I do at the moment.

I am in the middle of teaching a 6 week botanical watercolour course The Folde | Creative Workshops, Events & Homeware and tomorrow we are going to start drawing out our final piece ready to paint over the next two weeks in watercolour.

Today I did something I have been meaning to do for years- I sent a newsletter. I can’t believe I haven’t done it sooner because it was so good to write one! So if you received it today then I hope you like it. Please sign up for them if you haven’t already done so because I have a feeling they might be a pretty regular source of communication for me.

Adding in details in watercolour. Leaves used to be something I feared painting but through perseverance they have become slightly easier. I am now finding getting the right green more of an obsession!
