The vibrant flower shown is a Tigridia pavonia (commonly called the tiger flower, peacock flower, or Mexican shell flower), featuring large, vivid pink petals and a striking, intricate crimson-spotted white center.

Individual flowers typically last for just a single day, but each stem produces successive buds to extend the flowering window through mid-to-late summer.

These are grown from a bulb, of which I have around 15 spread throughout my garden. Giving a continuous bloom of flowers throughout July and into August.

The flower shown is a Dahlia 'Verrone's Obsidian' (also known as 'Honka Black'), featuring deep maroon-to-black star-like petals surrounding a bright golden-yellow center.
It is a single-orchid or star-type dahlia with typically eight narrow, slightly inrolled petals.

I like this one due it being a bit different from the norm, had it in the garden for some time. This is year 3, grown from tuber.
