Sometimes we do need to just stop and find that cozy place again where we remember why we make art. When things are hard and you can’t see the wood for the trees, we can draw them 🍂🌳✨🖌️

Happy Friday everyone!
It was a beautiful crisp morning and the park was looking very atmospheric. There were plenty of people walking their dogs and running. We met a really nice Gard who let the boys have a go on his motorbike and he even put the lights on for them. He made their day and I think they made his. It was a great moment. I hope you all are having a great Friday ❤️🍂✨🖌️

I’m so behind on my Inktober drawings now so I’m going to try and catch up but in the mean time I wanted to share with you this masterpiece I saw last weekend - The Taking of Christ by Caravaggio shows Christ being arrested. This was painting in the baroque period in 1602 but did you know this painting was lost for 200 years and turned up in the residence of the Society of Jesus in 1990?

Good morning everyone 👋
Today our hearts are heavy as last night we heard the sad news that our Holy Father has been diagnosed with lung cancer. I’m sure I join all Catholics all over the world in offering our love and prayers for Pope Leo XIV for a full recovery 🙏🏻❤️✝️

Another very famous painting I saw at the National Gallery of Ireland at the weekend.
Young woman in white reading by Renoir was painted in 1873 and is another example from the Impressionist movement. Did you see how soft the woman’s dress is? 😍

Did you ever look at how Claude Monet portrayed light?
