🏡A New Build with North Norfolk Character

Great progress is being made on our latest new build project in North Norfolk, and it’s fantastic to see this bespoke home continuing to take shape.

What makes this project particularly special is the attention to detail and the way traditional materials and craftsmanship are being incorporated into a modern new build. The beautiful flint detailing reflects the character and heritage of the local area, helping the property sit naturally within its North Norfolk surroundings.

Our skilled team are bringing together traditional craftsmanship, specialist detailing and high-quality construction to create a home that is completely individual — proving that a new build doesn’t have to mean standard.

When we think about new build construction, we think beyond simply creating new spaces. We believe in building differently — embracing innovation, sustainability and natural materials to create buildings designed for the future.

We are incredibly proud to showcase one of our sustainable new build projects, where our team assembled **both of the only NUR-HOLZ buildings currently in the UK**.

Manufactured in Germany, the NUR-HOLZ system uses solid timber panels connected using patented wooden dowels, creating a completely natural, glue-free construction method. The result is a highly engineered building system with exceptional thermal and structural performance, while making the most of one of the world's most sustainable natural resources.

Projects like this demonstrate how modern construction is evolving — combining the craftsmanship and benefits of traditional materials with advanced engineering, offsite precision and innovative low-carbon building methods.

A great piece in the latest KL Magazine showcasing our deep retrofit of The Blue House in Brancaster**.

Working alongside **Studio 163**, we’ve carefully blended conservation with contemporary design, creating a flawless finish that sits perfectly within this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A fantastic example of how thoughtful design, high-quality craftsmanship and respect for the existing building can come together to create something truly special.

We’re incredibly proud to have played our part in bringing this project to life.

King & Company Norfolk are honored to be the Principal Contractor leading the conservation and sensitive restoration of this iconic Grade I listed landmark.

The project will see this remarkable 17th-century building carefully repaired and conserved, including works to the stonework, windows, roof and its famous cupola, while retaining almost all of its historic fabric. The project will also improve accessibility and help bring the building back into sustainable use for future generations.

As a Norfolk-based specialist contractor with a passion for heritage, being entrusted with a building of this significance is a huge privilege. Projects like this showcase the skill, care and traditional craftsmanship within our team, and we are proud to play our part in protecting such an important piece of King’s Lynn’s history.

We look forward to sharing the journey as work progresses.

We couldn’t be happier with the finished result at the historic Norwich Chapelfield Bandstand. 🏛️✨

This much-loved monument has been carefully restored and rescued from the **Heritage at Risk Register**, helping to secure its future for generations to come.

We are incredibly proud to have been given the privilege of playing a part in preserving such an important piece of Norwich’s history. The project has also been a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible skill, knowledge and craftsmanship within our team. From traditional techniques to the careful attention to detail required throughout, the restoration has truly highlighted the talent and dedication of the people behind the finished result.

Every stage of the project has been carried out with the respect this landmark deserves, and we are incredibly proud of what our team has achieved.

A fantastic result for Norwich and for everyone involved. We are proud to have helped bring this iconic bandstand back to life. 💚

Ed consistently goes above and beyond in everything he does. Whether he's managing projects, stepping in as our unofficial **chief Teletruk driver**, or lending a hand wherever it's needed, nothing is ever too much trouble.

What really sets Ed apart is his willingness to support those around him. He's always happy to share his knowledge, answer questions, and take the time to help colleagues overcome challenges, whether that's on site or at the end of the phone. His patience, experience, and positive attitude make a real difference to everyone he works with.

🌱 Progressive construction, without compromising on character.

We’re currently undertaking a renovation and re-roofing project in Norwich, where we’re combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative sustainable technology.

As part of the project, we’re using ☀️ PV Slate ☀️ – solar technology designed to look and perform like a traditional slate roof. Made primarily from toughened glass and marine-grade aluminum, the system is mechanically fixed using stainless steel fixings, creating a durable solution with a significantly longer expected lifespan than many conventional solar alternatives.

What really excites us is the way the PV Slates can blend seamlessly with natural slate. The result is a roof that retains the character and appearance of the building, while quietly generating renewable energy.

For us, this is what 🌍️ progressive construction 🌍️ looks like.

It’s not simply about building sustainably. It’s about finding innovative ways to improve the environmental performance of buildings while respecting their architecture, their surroundings and the communities they belong to.
