⚠️ Flickering Lights? Don’t Ignore Them! 💡

If your lights are flickering, it might seem like a minor annoyance — but it can be a sign of underlying electrical issues that shouldn’t be ignored.

Flickering can indicate loose connections, faulty wiring, or overloaded circuits, all of which pose potential safety risks including fire hazards.

At Mull Electrical Solutions, we recommend getting flickering lights checked promptly to keep your home or business safe and sound.

If you’re noticing flickers, flick us a message — we’ll find the cause and sort it properly.

⚠️ Broken Socket? Don’t Risk It! 🔌

A damaged or broken socket might seem like a small problem, but it can cause serious safety issues — from electric shocks to fire hazards.

Granted this one is a little extreme, but if you notice cracks, loose fittings, or sparks when you plug something in, it’s time to get it checked and repaired by a professional. Also keep an eye out for any discolouration around the pins on the socket.

At Mull Electrical Solutions, we’re here to fix broken sockets safely and efficiently, keeping your home or business protected.

Don’t wait — drop us a message if you spot a faulty socket and we will get that sorted and made safe for you.

🛠️ Good Wiring Is More Than Just Wires ⚡

You might never see the wiring in your walls — but Rick does, and he takes pride in making it neat, precise, and done to the highest standard.

Tidy wiring isn’t just about looking good (though it does). It’s about:
✔️ Preventing kinks and stress on cables
✔️ Following safety regulations on where and how wiring can be run
✔️ Making future repairs or upgrades easier
✔️ Reducing fire risk and improving reliability

It’s a real skill, and one Rick takes seriously. Good craftsmanship might be hidden behind plasterboard, but it still matters — and at Mull Electrical Solutions, we wouldn’t do it any other way.

If you are needing electrical work done, whether it's domestic or commercial, pop us a message or give Rick a call 07711939255

🚨 Hiring an Electrician? Read This First. ⚡

Do you know if someone is offering electrical services and is not part of a registered governing body such as NAPIT, NICEC or SELECT they cannot self certify their work and subsequently issue compliance notifications to local area building control.

💡 Here’s what you need to know:

✅ Only registered electricians can carry out and self-certify notifiable electrical work in your home (under Part P of the Building Regulations).

✅ Always ask to see proof of registration (e.g. with NICEIC, NAPIT, Select etc.), just having the 18th edition for example does not make someone a quailified electrician. These governing bodies carry out proof of qualifications and insurance checks as well as yearly assessments of the electricians competence.

✅ Poor or unsafe work can lead to fires, electric shocks, or invalidated insurance if carried out by someone unable to certificate notifiable work.

As a fully qualified and registered electrician, I take pride in doing things the right and safe way.

We have some really skilled qualified electricians on based on Mull, registered with the relevant competent person schemes with proof of their skills and fault finding ability, who are compliant with regulations and able to carry out work safely.

Let’s keep homes and businesses safe but more importantly people safe 👍

Did you know?

An EIC, or Electrical Installation Certificate, is a document that can only be issued by a qualified and registered electrician to confirm that a new or altered electrical installation complies with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). It essentially verifies the safety of a new or altered electrical installation.

It's a legally required document to prove compliance with safety regulations.

The certificate provides assurance that the electrical work is safe and complies with regulations, which is crucial for the safety of occupants and the functionality of the building's electrical system.

All new or altered installations carried out by Mull Electrical Solutions will be tested and issued a EIC providing peace of mind and assurance that the work carried out is legal, complies with regulations but most importantly is safe.
