Have a look at this quick transformation!

This boiler room is part of a house renovation recently completed with Ian hay heating and plumbing

The heating system was overdue an upgrade as you can see and they're over the moon with this setup.

There's now no shortage of hot water, good pressure which is always a bonus, it's very energy efficient and it looks the part!

There are three zones on the system - Hot water, central heating and a hot water return due to the size of the property. It also has it's own frost protection so it's not a worry in winter and it has an immersion heater as a backup.

Very happy with the end result!

Saturdays job at my own house.

Feature lighting at the front of the house just to spruce it up a wee bit.

This is one Neon light wired into a smart controller. The light can be manually switched on/off in the house like any other light but it can also be controlled by an app on any device.

The smart feature creates a more flexible way of controlling the lights, for example this one comes on at sunset and stays on for a set period of time before switching off. The sun sets at different times everyday so this app uses the weather app on my phone to stay updated.

Time schedules can also be set and other sensors can also be wired in as a means of control if necessary.

Not many people can say they have a beef finishing shed like this one.

64 multi-spectrum light fittings all suspended on heavy duty catenary wires.
Throughout the day the shed uses the blue and white setting for 16 hours then it automatically changes to red lights throughout the night.
The lights are controlled by a timer and also a daylight sensor. This means the lux level is constantly monitored and the lights will switch off when the sunlight alone is bright enough (saving money) but also stay on when they are required. An additional override switch has been installed to make checking the cows at night an easy task.

Floodlights have been fitted at the entrance to the shed and the storage area is also lit up nicely with four anti-corrosive 6ft LED fittings.

Last week was busy running around doing a variety of jobs including;

An Electrical Installation Condition Report for a rented property,
A thermal cut-out replaced on a compressor in a workshop,
Outside lights fitted on a house,
Fault finding in another property,
A distribution board was moved to a more accessible position,
All while rewiring a 6 bedroom farm house.

Lighting in a new shed recently completed.
Switchable UFO LED light fittings with seperate night lights.
Controlled by a timer, automatic changeover from white to red light and an override switch.
