🚨 WARNING PLEASE MIST COAT YOUR BARE PLASTER 🚨

This one put me through the ringer

I have just completed what can only be described as the bathroom from hell...

The previous/initial paintwork was not mist coated resulting in serious adhesion issues hence the never ending flaking and failing paint. Not just on the ceiling but the walls too.

After an initial failed attempt that uncovered even more flakey paint 😴 This was the process done to achieve the final finish..

- Scraped back all the flakey paint on the ceiling & walls to a solid edge
- Locked down the edge of the old paint with Zinsser Peel Stop
- Stabilised the entire surface with Zinsser Gardz
- Blended the repairs in with fine surface filler
- Spot primed the filler with Zinsser Bullseye 123
- Then 2 coats of Zinsser Perma White

The biggest challenge with jobs like these isn't actually putting the paint on, it's making sure what you're putting it on is made sound.

From a flaking mess - to a clean fresh properly stabilised bathroom.

Patience, preparation & the correct products got it there in the end.

If you have recently had anything plastered it is vital you apply a mist coat so it seals the porous plaster allowing your top coat to adhere properly instead of eventually flaking off.

Another job completed for a returning customer, having previously decorated their entrance hallway.

This time it was the turn of the stairs & landing — definitely an awkward one to tackle, but the finished result has completely freshened up the space. 👌

Back from holiday and straight back to it! 👌

First job completed since getting back — a full refresh of this living room and another one ticked off the list. Also did the downstairs loo which I forgot to photograph!

Really pleased with how this one has turned out.
3 different colours but all works really well with the fresh woodwork 🎨

I’m currently away enjoying a well-earned holiday and taking the opportunity to recharge after a busy few months.

From dated varnished timber to a fresh, modern white gloss finish! 🤍

This staircase has been completely transformed, giving the hallway a much brighter and more contemporary feel.

A lot of the finish comes down to the preparation, and this one was no exception.

✔ Thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, grease and contaminants.
✔ Sanded throughout with 120-grit abrasive to provide a solid key.
✔ Cleaned again to remove all sanding dust.
✔ Applied Zinsser BIN to seal the varnished timber and provide excellent adhesion.
✔ Applied Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Primer Undercoat to create a uniform base.
✔ Then finished with 2 coats of Albany SuperGloss for a durable, hard-wearing finish.

The customer is delighted with the transformation, and it’s easy to see why. White gloss has completely modernised the staircase while providing a tough finish that will stand up to everyday use.

Another rental property completed and ready for its next chapter 🏡

This one certainly wasn't an easy one, but the transformation made all the hard work worthwhile.

The property had a few mould issues which were treated, cleaned and fully prepared before any decorating began.

The hall stairs and landing was transformed from dark grey throughout to a fresh, bright white, giving it a much lighter and more welcoming feel.

A huge amount of preparation went into this one to achieve a clean finish, and it's now ready for new doors and flooring to be fitted, putting the finishing touches on the property before its new tenants move in.

Another landlords property brought back to life and ready for the next tenancy.

Another project done for a new client ✔️

After moving into their new home the client got in touch with us to get the decorating moving. They wanted colour and thats exactly what they have had!

The Master bedroom, En suite, Main Bathroom, Kitchen, Utility & all woodwork has been done throughout the HSL (unfortunately I forgot to take pictures) it was changed from a dark grey to white.

Apologies for the lack of posts/replies - I have been absolutely snowed under for the last couple of months.

Before & After ✨
