Based in Taunton and close to the M5 motorway we can offer our services across the Southwest of England to the general public and commercial clients.

DrainFix attended the Crispin Shopping Centre, Street on behalf of National Grid and Twoleave Property Maintenance to undertake excavation works within a public area.

The works involved excavating and undermining into a communications room to install approximately 30 metres of electrical ducting, enabling a new connection from the main electrical supply.

The project presented several challenging conditions, which our team successfully overcame through careful planning, coordination and practical problem-solving. Despite these challenges, the works were completed to a high standard, with no delays to the programme.

The project was delivered within the required timescales, allowing National Grid to proceed with the connection as planned.

DrainFix recently carried out overnight drainage investigations at 40 Commando on behalf of the Royal Marines and Somerset Council.

The works were undertaken to investigate the cause of severe flooding affecting the entrance to the camp from the A358. By working overnight, we were able to minimise disruption while gathering the information needed to support a long-term solution.

Really positive progress on a local project we’re currently delivering. So far, we’ve excavated onto the main combined line to install a new manhole, along with two lateral connections for new toilet blocks.

We also carried out a further excavation to investigate a blockage where the line was completely filled with stones — stopping both the jetter and CCTV survey in their tracks. Always something to keep us on our toes!

Next up, we’ll be moving into full and patch lining works to restore structural integrity across the pitch fibre pipework — around 10 patch liners and 50 full-length liners planned.

More investigations to follow, and potentially further excavations as we keep pushing things forward.

Once all works have been completed we then need to re-survey all lines post repair for insurance companies approval.

Great to be on site, seeing the progress firsthand and catching up with the team — that’s where the real work comes together. Great work Nick Wills and his team.

Great to have Gus Smith from S1E Ltd with us at our head office this morning 👏

He stopped by to demonstrate our latest addition to our equipment — A new lining drum which can line any drainage from 100mm - 225mm — and it didn’t disappoint.

It’s always valuable to see new kit in action, and this one is set to make a real difference in efficiency and performance across our operations.

A big thank you to Gus for taking the time to walk the team through the features and answer questions — plenty of great conversations and ideas sparked!

Exciting times ahead as we continue investing in the tools and technology that keep us moving forward.
