A Boiler replacement completed at Markethill Masonic Hall. A slightly bigger boiler than what we’d usually be installing, 304kg to be precise😬 designed to heat larger properties & can comfortably heat 30/40 radiators.

There will be a large saving now on oil bills going forward after the replacement of the old cast iron boiler that was over 40 years old. With the huge rise in fuel prices lately, there is no better time to be changing for something more efficient as winter gets closer.

Again I’m getting lots of calls for jobs people want done now.. I love to help, but due to demand this is no longer possible unless the job is treated as an emergency, il do my best to then attend at an extra cost. On Friday night I visited a home in markethill at 8pm with water coming through the ceilings of the home, this was classed as an emergency which I attended after being contacted by a local property agent I complete work for.

Due to a lot of similar jobs booked for this month, here is a look at a heating upgrade completed in loughgall this week.

•grant vortex 120-155 ✅
•35litre expansion vessel ✅
•6m circulation pump ✅
•electrics upgraded ✅
•4 new convector radiators fitted✅
•18 thermostatic radiator valves & lockshields added✅
•system balanced to help performance (this is due to the older home having had lots of add ons through the years)✅
•smart EPH heating controls ✅

We also got 2 new kitchen taps fitted & cut out all ball fix valves that had been fitted before on all flow and return pipes at radiators & replaced these with straight connectors. A ball fix valve on radiators is not ideal, due to restrictions on the flow & being well known to leak when turned after being installed for a period of time. Unfortunately this home owner has a leak underfloors in their home, after knowing about this we added leak sealer to the system to try heal the problem (this doesn’t always work due to pipes sometimes being rotten or a polly plumb fitting having unscrewed)

A tricky job completed this week just outside Gilford. The home owner had herself very stressed due to leaks directly above the electric board. I got a look at the job & was made believe this was called a baker system.. I had planned to get a new header made up to try simplify this job for us, leaving us only needing to replace the indirect cylinder and header. After speaking to a few more experienced plumbers about this system, they made me believe the header had baffles inside, this left the option of going with the same system not possible. After a lot of head scratching on how we could make the new system work, we got the old one removed, we could then see inside the header to see it didn’t have baffles, but there was no going back🙈😅

The current system was designed for an open fire and oil boiler to both heat the hot water and radiators. We got a new twin coil cylinder fitted & added a 2nd pump & pipe-stat leaving the system working just like before, only this time more simple for the home owner due to us adding a pipe-stat & 2nd pump, this designed to draw the hot water from the fire/hot water to the radiators automatically when temperature was reached👌

There seems to be too much plumbing work & not enough plumbers by the looks of things in Northern Ireland right now😅🙈 but thanks to all for their patience on waiting times for me getting to smaller jobs at the moment.

New build home 1st fixed this week just outside Markethill. 🏠

•We ran mains water to the garage and a feed back to the house, to allow for a booster tank due to bad water pressure in the area, this will leave the home with good pressure & flow rate ☑️

•We got pipework turned out of the floor space at the correct measurements to allow for column radiators to be fitted at a later date ☑️

•We will return after insulation has gone down to lay some underfloor heating ☑️

•After floors have been poured, we will then return to fit the cylinder, boiler, oil tank & buffer tank in roofspace to allow for the stove link up to heat the home aswell as the oil boiler ☑️

I’m getting lots of calls atm from people looking heating upgrades, don’t leave this to the last minute, as I have boiler upgrades and radiator upgrades booked right through to Halloween. Now might be the time to change your old boiler and get the system flushed (if required) to make sure it’s running to its maximum efficiency, due to the ongoing rise with oil prices 🔥

It was good to get back to work last week💪 my work load right now is the busiest it’s been. Thank you to all who have been patient & continued to wait for work to be done from Iv been off. If I haven’t been in touch I will be when I get caught up a little! Emergency work is hard to get to now due to this, but I’m still keen to hear from anyone with any future projects👌

We started a new build home in Newry today, 1 of 4 new builds we have on at the minute. We got 2 28mm copper pipes placed in the fireplace and got them fitted to the roofspace, this is to allow for the flow & return from the stove to gravitate to a buffer tank in the roofspace to then heat the house & hot water. We also got the domestic water pipes from the ground floor to the 1st floor, the home Is now ready for plastering. All pipework tested at 3bar👌

Hi everyone, sorry the page hasn’t been updated lately & Iv been slow responding to messages, it’s not because im on a beach😅 Iv been off all month after a small medical procedure, but I’m hoping to get back working in the next few weeks. I’m still able in the meantime to price work up for anyone looking prices on anything that’s not emergency works. A shout out to Jason & Jamie who’ve been a great help keeping jobs rolling and doing work to a high standard when Iv been off, it’s very much appreciated 👌

A slightly different job from what I’d usually take on, but this customer in Co Down had contacted me about leaking wet rooms and wanted to know if I could help them. I called and had a look to see if it was something I was happy to take on. The tiles were moving under my feet as I stood on the wet room floor with water squirting back up through the gaps in the tiles, at this stage I knew it was something that needed fixing!

•old tiles & trays removed ✅
•insulated screed removed ✅
•new insulation fitted ✅
•wet room gulley set & floor screeded ✅
•wet rooms tiled & sealed ✅

I was very happy with how the ensuite & main bathroom wet rooms turned out and leaving the customer with a peace of mind knowing they’d leak free shower areas was most important for me.

A couple of jobs completed this week 🔧

Boiler replacement just outside Armagh, a very easy customer to deal with. We got the old boiler removed and installed a new cabin-pac boiler, also a new kitchen tap was installed at the home ✅

Electric shower that had quit working at a home in Markethill, I was able to get a new shower to work back in and got this replaced for a local property agent ✅

Just outside Markethill, we made a start to a new build home by getting a 28mm flow and return in place to allow for plastering. These pipes will eventually link up to a stove & will give the customer heating water for radiators/underfloor & hot water. All pipework tested at 3bar✅

Old housing/boiler disconnected & removed. We then got a new grant euroflame cabin pac installed, inhibitor added to the system & boiler commissioned ✅
