💧 From one home to another – without leaving the fish behind! 🐟

This was a really special project for us.

Our clients were relocating to Yorkshire and wanted to take their much-loved pond fish with them. We safely collected the fish from their previous home and cared for them in our specialist holding facilities while they completed their move.

Once they were settled, we built their dream wildlife pond, complete with a beautiful natural waterfall designed to encourage wildlife and create a healthy environment for their fish.
When everything was ready, we reunited the fish with their new home.

From fish relocation and temporary boarding to designing and building the pond itself, we managed the entire project from start to finish.

🚨 ABBCO to the rescue! 🐟💙

Not all emergencies involve leaks or floods...
We were recently called to a 4 in a Bed-winning B&B after their neglected pond, combined with the recent hot weather, turned into a biological nightmare for the remaining goldfish.

Warm weather + neglected water = low oxygen, poor water quality and stressed fish. Sadly, not all survived, but we were able to step in and help those that did.

Our team carried out a full pond maintenance, restoring the pond's balance and creating a healthy environment where the surviving fish can thrive once again.

This is a great reminder that ponds need regular care—especially during hot weather. A little maintenance can prevent a major problem.

🐟 Another safe fish relocation completed! 🐟

This week we safely transported a collection of pond fish from a private property in Wisbech to their new home at Pond World, Wisbech.

Even though it was a short journey, every relocation is carefully planned to minimise stress and keep the fish healthy throughout the move. Using specialist transport equipment, we made sure they arrived safely and settled into their new environment.

💧➡️🌿 From Water Feature to Rain Garden

This morning we carried out a full drain down, clean and inspection of an existing water feature at G&M HQ.

Unfortunately, after a thorough assessment, the feature has reached the point where repair is no longer a practical long-term solution.

The good news? This isn’t the end of the story.

Drawing on our experience in water management, habitat creation and natural landscaping, we’ll now be transforming the area into a rain garden.

Rain gardens are designed to capture and manage rainfall naturally, creating a feature that not only looks great but also supports biodiversity and works with the environment rather than against it.

The new space will:

🐝 Support pollinators and wildlife
🌱 Add seasonal colour and interest
