Steve joined the London Borough of Merton Pest control team in 1989 as a general assistance in the Environmental Health Department. He undertook in house training until he sat his Royal Society of Health (RSH) Certificate in Pest Control and passed with Credit. Working closely with Environmental Health staff and managers learning all types of public health and pest control roles. Steve fully under
stands how an Environmental Health Officer wants records kept and pest control carried out in food serving premises. After 10 years the local authority moved pest control in to waste operations. Over the next 16 years Steve has undertaken over 40 training courses many with exams including certificates in pest control including food hygiene, health and safety. Steve has trained junior Environmental Health Officer in their pest control module for their exams. Most years Steve has taken work experience students from local schools out to show them how local government pest control works and operates. For the last 5 years of his 26-year local government employment
Steve has run and managed the Pest Control team, as the senior pest control officer. Carrying out pest treatments, giving site and telephone advice to the local residents including Insect identification and providing in house training to staff. Steve has carried out 1000’s of successful treatments for Mice, Rats, Squirrel, Bed bugs, Wasps, Hornets, Fleas, Moths, Cockroaches & Ants
Arranged and carried out house clearance after deaths and removed drug use equipment such as needles Etc
