If you're already wiping down your windows first thing, you'll know the feeling.

Last winter it was draughts, cold rooms and wet sills every morning. This winter doesn't have to be the same.

We've been working on this Chelsea home in stages, and this week it's the turn of the front elevation.
Out come the old sashes, in go brand new timber box sash windows, double glazed, made to match the originals.

Being in a conservation area, the front of the house has to look right. Slim glazing bars, traditional proportions, proper timber joinery. From the street you'd never know they were new, but inside the difference is night and day: no rattles, no draughts, and far less condensation on cold mornings.

Doing a property in stages like this works well for a lot of our customers. It spreads the cost and keeps disruption to a minimum, one elevation at a time.

If your sash windows are letting the cold in, now's the time to get them sorted before winter properly arrives.

Another beautiful period entrance brought back to life in Pimlico, London.

This new timber front door was supplied, fitted and professionally spray finished, with the design carefully considered to meet the requirements of the local conservation area and planning.

The aim was simple: keep the character and proportions that suit a Pimlico property, while giving the customer a high-quality new entrance built for modern-day living.
