The OG Riding my own wave that is to date my favourite painting - and sharing this design at my workshops has been so lovely.
The thing is, I sometimes get nervous about calling myself an artist - I paint words, but it's not 100% brush calligraphy, it's my own style which I have crafted on my own - no one taught me - probably considered a tad naff by some people. I can't even begin to think how many words I have painted now, and it's so nice to start painting more than just words - and it's seems okay for me to call myself an artist now - am I weird, does this make sense, probably not!
What I quickly learnt as a small business owner is that not everyone will like your style...
AND THAT'S OKAY (took me longer to learn this part)!
What could be someones art, is someone else's recycling, and again this is ok! No one is in the wrong.
..and that's where my feelings on the process come in, when I paint I am happy, the more happy I am the more likely the painting will turn out how I'd like it, and this has led me on to sharing this happiness, sharing this joy in my workshops, where I have created a safe art space for a combined number of 77 people now.
77 people - oh my gosh!
So here's to the next painting, the next inky doodle, the next painted quote, the next workshop and never thinking about how everyone else perceives you and instead focus on the joy the painting brings you!
