LOG CABIN REPAIRS – NOT JUST PAINTING 🪵🔧
This is one of our current repair projects and a good example of why deteriorated timber shouldn’t simply be filled and painted over.
Once we started opening up the affected area, the extent of the timber damage became clear.
We’ve carefully removed the defective sections and are now rebuilding the damaged area with new timber, working around the existing structure and services before the cabin is prepared and refinished.

We’ve now started work on this absolute beast of a cabin, which is being transformed into a new café.

As the timber will remain visible, our first job was to thoroughly sand the surfaces and remove any dirt, handprints and other marks from the construction process.

Once prepared, we applied the FlameTec fire-protection treatment at the specified coverage rate of 4m² per litre. After allowing this to dry fully, we then applied a generous coat of our universal timber preserver primer.

This specialist primer is designed to soak deeply into the timber, helping to protect it against wood-boring insects, fungal decay and blue-stain mould.

A lot more work is still to come, but the correct preparation and protection at this stage will give the cabin the best possible long-term finish.

Our team worked on this cabin over a few days. Now the cabin is a few years old was done in a varnish 1st time round then painted in a cream however wasn't primed and once we got the sanders out we found a few issues! However thats not a problem with DDS, and with the right preparation and primers got the cabin ready for topcoat. We replaced the facias as they were rotten. Cleaned the windows and gutters from on the old paint and 💥 💥 we had the cabin looking as good as new. Customer left us a cracking review on our google page too 👍 on to the next one. Thank you everyone who likes and shares too we appreciate it.

Well another cabin completed by our team of professionals. Exterior was lichen 19 with ral 7024 graphite windows and doors. Interior was finished in Ivory. We are committed in delivering only highest standard on our finish and our service to our customers.

🔨 Project Start – Oak Gate Restoration

Today we begin restoring these beautiful oak gates & porch areas.

As you can see, the timber is showing clear signs of ageing. This is mainly due to the previous coating failing over time, allowing moisture to pe*****te the wood. Black mould has also developed beneath the existing Osmo coating, which is a common issue when timber isn't properly prepared before recoating.

This is exactly why we always recommend thoroughly washing timber with a mould and mildew cleaner before applying any new coatings. Once the timber has been properly cleaned and allowed to dry, we apply two coats of Universal Preserver Primer to provide deep protection and create the ideal foundation for the finishing coats.

Our first step today is a full chemical wash to remove as much of the black staining and mould as possible before the restoration process begins.
