Recently, we’ve had the absolute pleasure of working on some truly stunning properties, with plenty more exciting projects in the pipeline. We never take your trust for granted and cannot thank everyone enough for recommending and supporting J. Ellis & Son.
As our workload continues to grow, we are also hoping to secure an ongoing decorating contract covering three large care homes in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Subject to the contract being confirmed, we will potentially be looking to recruit an additional experienced decorating team from October. This would involve ongoing work within the three homes, with good and reliable rates of pay available.

Self-Employed Decorators Wanted – Stoke-on-Trent

Potential ongoing work | Approx. 2 days per week initially | Further work potentially available

J. Ellis & Son Professional Painting & Decorating Excellence are looking to build relationships with a small number of experienced, reliable self-employed decorators in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

We are currently in discussions regarding a substantial amount of ongoing decorating work across 3 dementia care homes in Stoke-on-Trent.

Nothing is confirmed just yet and discussions are still ongoing regarding the exact working and payment structure. However, the current proposal is potentially to carry out the work around 2 days per week initially, gradually working through agreed areas across the three homes.

I potentially already have one reliable team of two decorators, but due to the scale of these projects I'm looking to put together another team of two and also build a strong network of local decorators for future work.

The idea moving forward could be to have one team progressing work in one home while another team starts in another, allowing us to keep the projects moving without trying to tackle everything at once.

Me and my son will remain involved and oversee the projects, while also completing our existing commitments.

I've been running J. Ellis & Son for around a year now and, through advertising, recommendations and repeat customers, the workload has grown considerably. We're reaching the point where rather than turning good work and existing customers away, I'd like to start building relationships with other good decorators who we can hopefully offer a steady flow of subcontract work as the company continues to grow.

I'm looking for decorators who are:

- Experienced and work to a high professional standard
- Reliable and turn up when agreed
- Clean, tidy and respectful
- Comfortable working within occupied dementia care homes
- Properly set up as self-employed
- Ideally based in or around Stoke-on-Trent
- Interested in developing a longer-term working relationship

Because these are occupied dementia care homes, professionalism, cleanliness and consideration towards residents and staff are absolutely essential.

Rates and payment structure are still being discussed and would be fully agreed before anybody commits to the work.

Sometimes photos say more than words. The level of preparation that went into this project was huge, and we're proud that the finished result reflects the time, care and attention to detail that went into every stage of the job.
From repairing rotten timber and replacing damaged putty, to meticulous sanding and applying premium exterior coatings, every part of this project was completed to the highest standard.
A huge thank you to David & Clare for trusting J. Ellis & Son Professional Painting & Decorating Excellence with their beautiful home. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on, and we wish them many years of enjoying its fresh new look.

🎉 Project Complete! 🎉
After a few unexpected delays and some incredibly hard work in the heat, me and Tyler are finally completing our biggest exterior project to date in Stockport today.
We can't wait to share the finished photos with you over the next few days. The transformation is exactly what we hoped for, and, most importantly, our customers couldn't be happier with the finished result.
The delays did mean we had to rearrange and push back a number of other projects, so we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers for your patience and understanding. Your support means a great deal to us.
We are now taking bookings for November, although spaces are already filling up quickly.
Keep an eye on our page over the next few days for the final reveal – we're incredibly proud of how this project has turned out. I also want to say how proud I am of Tyler. We've both worked through some long, challenging days in the heat, and today we finish a job that we can genuinely both be proud of.
