A garage conversion that keeps the original concrete floor and no insulation in the walls will feel like a garage with a sofa in it. Because structurally, that's exactly what it is. 🛋🥶

We see the same three mistakes over and over, and they're the difference between a room that actually works and one you avoid using six months in.

❌ Treating it as a decoration job
Paint and carpet over the original slab does not make a habitable room. Without addressing the floor build-up, damp-proofing and wall insulation, you're creating a cold, damp space no amount of furnishing will fix.

✅ Start with the structure
A proper conversion begins with the floor. A new insulated screed brings it level with the rest of the house and eliminates cold and damp from below. Walls follow, with insulation and a finish that matches the rest of your home.

❌ Skipping proper insulation
A garage sits outside the thermal envelope of your home. Insulate only the door opening and you'll spend years heating a room that loses warmth as fast as you put it in. 🔥💨

✅ Insulate to habitable standard
