Second stuffing of two inside arms well under way this week. A little tweaking still to do but both Arms are getting there on this bare frame rebuild which had very few clues to how it originally looked, having arrived with us in a rather distressed state. There’s still a long way to go before this chair gets to live a new life,I’ll share more updates soon 😁

As many of you know I am just one cog in the wheel of a much bigger committee organising the hugely popular and as we speed ever closer to the big weekend on 2nd & 3rd October it was great to see two lovely articles about our event in the members magazine. With tickets selling fast and half the courses already sold out now is the time to check out the web site where we have the full programme of events for the two days along with all details of the demos and activities taking place. Pop over to our insta to follow, keep up to date and for the web site links.
Look forward seeing you all there, it’s going to be the upholstery event to see and be seen at 😍

This weeks view from the bench, well a makeshift bench, as my workshop had some electrical upgrades carried out today so I couldn’t work inside. I spotted the pile of building blocks nearby and in the shade so, tools in hand, continued the strip down of this armchair while the sparkies carried on inside, probably to be of the few processes in upholstery that can be carried out almost anywhere.

Fantastic week with friends in Scotland. Treated to jacket potatoes cooked in fire pits, swam in lochs, did the tourist bit and drove to John O’Groats, tried my hand at glass fusion art, climbed two Monroes including the infamous Ben Macdui (second highest mountain in Britain, didn’t you know) got held up in a country lane by a lot of sheep and even saw a red squirrel 🐿️ what great friends to have in such a beautiful part of the Highlands, if you’re looking for a fab base and need hosts with great local knowledge of everything available or a knowledgeable mountain guide check out and thanks to for sharing your glass fusion expertise with us
