We attended a leak detection job today that honestly left us disappointed.
A 90-year-old lady had been advised by another company that her hallway floor needed to be lifted at a cost of around £1,500. The suspected cause was a leak on the heating pipework.
Before recommending any invasive works, we carried out the correct diagnostic testing. Pressure testing confirmed there were no issues whatsoever with the heating system.
After continuing our investigation, we identified the actual source of the leak – the shower tray, not the heating pipework.
This is exactly why thorough testing should always come before recommending costly or disruptive work. Assumptions can lead to unnecessary expense, damage, and a great deal of stress, particularly for vulnerable customers.
At Gate Leak Detection, we believe in diagnosing the problem first, providing the evidence, and only then recommending the most appropriate course of action.
Sometimes, spending a little more time investigating can save a customer thousands.
